Alvin Hansen, and Lieutenant Philip M. Crow, son of Mr, and Mrs.

J. S. Crow of Brownsboro, was solemnized in a candlelight last Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the First Christian Church. With Rev. H.

M. Barnett officiating, the double ring ceremony took place in the presence of close friends and members of the family. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a blue gabardine suit cut on tailored lines. Her white blouse was stitched around the neck, and she wore a pendant necklace belonging to her mother. A brown off-the-face hat with brown veiling and brown accessories completed her bridal en- temble.

She wore a shoulder corsage of tailsman roses. The groom was attired in full dress uniform. Miss Nell Hansen, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. She wore a green velvet dress with pockets and blouse studded with gold nail heads. Her accessories were of cherry red.

Anson Rigby of Bedias was best man. The bride's mother wore a blue crepe frock with cherry red accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of red chrysanthemums. The church was decorated with yellow and bronze chrysanthemums. White candles in candelabra burned at either side of the altar during the ceremony.

Chrysanthemums in bronze and yellow with bronze ribbon marked off the first two rows. Traditional wedding music was played at the piano by Mrs. R. W. Bookman.

Mrs. J. A. Moore sang the bridal solo, "Because." The former wore a brown chiffon dress with brown accessories. The soloist wore a block crepe suit with a black velvet hat.

Ernest Spellman of Smiley, Texas, and John Caldwell were ushers. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Charles Mary Vykoukal presided at the punch bowl from the other end. The table was laid with a white lace cloth. Laura Lee Phillips, formerly of Freeport and Angleton, Brazoria County's first and only woman to serve as County Judge, was married to Capt. L. C. Carter recently in the Episcopal church in Abilene. Rev.

W. P. Gerhart officiated at the ceremony. The bride wore an afternoon ensemble of aqua lame with a rose and aqua hat. Her flowers were white gardenias.

Baskets of white flowers decorated each side of the altar. The church organist played the traditional bridal music. Mrs. Carter is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs.

G. H. Hampshire of Marlin. She was educated at the Universities of Texas and Oklahoma. Capt.

Carter is the son of Mrs. H. G. Carter of Marlin. After taking pre-medical training at Rice Institute, he received his medical degree from the University of Texas medical school in Galveston.

In civilian life he was connected with the Buie Clinic in Marlin. He did post graduate at the University of Pennsylvania. His military associates at Camp Barkley and their wives attended the wedding. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was held at the Hilton Hotel. The former Mrs.

Phillips served as Erazoria county judge for several months in 1940 filling the un- expired term of her husband, the Inte O. K. Phillips, who died in office. fern was arranged on a round mirror in the center. Yellow and bronze chrysanthemums carried out the wedding flowers on the buffet.

Lt. and Mrs. Crow left after the reception for a short wedding trip. They will return to Freeport for a visit with the bride's parents this weekend before going to Camp Polk, where they will make their home. The groom is to be an instructor in the llth armored division.

Bullard Miss Myrtle Crosby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Crosby of Freeport, was married to J.

W. Bullard of Freeport last Saturday in Angleton at the home of Rev. H. M. Barnett, pastor of the First Christinn Church.

The couple's only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. I. G. Matthews.

The bride wore a black dress with tan accessories. Her Queen Anne off-the-face hat was of black. The couple will make their home on West Broad street. Mrs. Bullard is employed at the post office.

Houston Rites Unite Couple Miss Helen Joplin of Velasco nnd Angleton became the bride of Phil Nathans of Velasco at the home of Rev. Charles King, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, in Houston Saturday night. 'The groom's father, Phil Nathans was the couple's only attendant. Mrs. Nathans is business manager for the Velasco World and is employed by the Review Publishing Company of Angleton.
