Greene Case Moving Ahead The case of suspended Housing Commissioner Arthur Greene has been marked fully submitted and a decision in that matter is expected next month. Greene has taken Mayor Arthur Weinberg to court over the mayor's firing--later changed to suspensionof the fiery housing authority member. Greene, who was known to have been planning to introduce a resolution firing the project manager, was suspended at the start of a meeting on the matter.

The housing commissioner contends that the suspension was illegal and improper because formal charges were never filed. In: a separate, but related case, Greene is also suing the housing authority and Anthony Vallone, its project manager, to have him removed from his post. Greene and commissioners Garry Mendez and the Rev. James Hunt, ignoring Weinberg's suspension, went ahead with the March 28 meeting when this occurred, and voted to fire Vallone. He was subsequently ordered by Wade Bolde, chairman of the authority, to remain on the job because, Bolde claimed, the meeting was improper.

Greene's suit against Vallone was adjourned until June 16. The group, which is headed by Edmund Heiser, has spearheaded a local effort to remove the property tax as the chief means of raising school monies. The association boasts members throughout the county and has come up petitions, bearing the names of 10,000 persons who agree with its stance on the tax issue.

They will be delivered to the state legislature in Albany in early June.
