The ordinance introduced states- that it shall be unlawful for a train to be'run within the corporate limits of Oxford recklessly or at a speed greater than is reasonable and proper, having regard to the width, traf fic on and the use of the streets and of any other condition then exUtingr aLsucharateoI speed as to unreasonably en danger lives or limb of any person. Any person violating the ordinance would be guilty ot a misdemeanor-and-would be4in ed no less than $1 or more than $100 or imprisoned in the city jail or sentenced to hard labor for a period of not more than 90 days. 4 A final vote will be taken at the next meeting on July 15.

A motion was made to ask ths city attorney to draw up an ordinance to make McKibben Street a no truck route, and to make all outside haulers- get a permit from the city council in order to use the city dump. This action was taken due to a petition signed by those living along McKibben Street. They complained of garbage trucks dropping refuge on the street as Todays military and civilian specialists, with headquarters and, most major operations' centered "at Redstone.
