Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union were Tennis McEnroe fined $7,250 NEW YORK (AP) The Men's International Professional Tennis Council fined Wimbledon champion John McEnroe J2.250 and notified him of another fine of $5,000 for serious misconduct at the tournament, officials said Thursday. Marshall Happer, administrator of the Pro Council, said the Council is not considering suspending the world's No. 1 player. Under the Pro Council's Code of Conduct, the Wimbledon committee had asked that McEnroe be fined $10,000, the maximum fine under the rules for a major offense. Meanwhile, CBS Executive Producer Frank Chlrkinlan, who is in charge of the network's U.S.

Open tennis tournament, coverage, said CBS would continue to use courtslde microphones to pick up the sounds of the players despite a vehement protest from John McEnroe father of the tennis star. Chlrkinlan told the Associated Press: "McEnroe came to our truck yesterday and said, 'Neither John nor any other member of my family will ever do an interview with you guys again unless you stop using those "Well, we're going to continue keeping microphones on John McEnroe, just as we do with any other player.
