He retired in 1970. Mr. Fichtel was a member of the Lutheran Church in Rhinebeck. Bom in Stuttgart, Germany, on Feb. 8, 1914, he was the son of Mr and Mrs.

Peluse, former barber George Peluse, 87, a "lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, died. Thursday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Castle Point. 11. 1996. Mr Peluse is survived by a sister, Regina Peluse of Poughkeepsie; two brothers, Leonard and Vincent Peluse, both of Poughkeepsie, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Hastede is also survived a daughter, Dawn Brill of Plattekill; a sister, Sharon Bailey of Highland; a brother, Clarence Butler Jr of Fishkill; a granddaughter, a grandson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The event was organized by the Poughkeepsie Highland Railroad Bridge Co. and will include a picnic and entertainment by the Hudson Valley Folk Guild and the Hudson Valley Clown Alley The walkathon will begin at 10 a m. at six different locations: the former Jamesway store on Route 9 in Hyde Park; Greenvale Park on Route 376; Staff Lighting on Route 9W, Z's Deli on Route 44; Stop and Stop (formerly on Route 9, and Frankie's Farm Market on Route 9W Each route is about five miles and ends at Waryas Park Bill Sepe, the organization's founder, said each starting place represents a point on a compass, "and we hope to show that from any direction, people can access the riverfront area."
