He was employed as an installer for in White Plains, N.Y. until his retirement in 1996. For seven years, Mr. Brzozowski was a Ball coach for the Town of Beekmaa He enjoyed fishing. He served in the U.S.

Army during the Vietnam era. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Aug. 18, 1946, he was the son of Joseph and Wanda Bankowski Brzozowski. On Sept 14, 1974, he married Barbara Ruppenstein in Jackson Heights, N.Y.

Mrs. Brzozowski survives at home. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by four sons, James, Erik, Craig and Tyler Brzozowski, all of Poughquag; a brother and sister in law, Gregory and Florence Brzozowski of Hicksville, N.Y; and five nieces, Cindy, Diane, Mary, and Maureen Brzozowski and Claudia Segneri. Mary Ann Walsh, 69, of Hopewell Junction, died on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, surrounded by her family. A local resident since 1979, she previously resided in Parsippany, J. She was employed as a Legal Assistant for Hankin, Hanig, Stall, CapIicM, Redl and Curtin in Poughkeepsie for 13 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a former member of St Peter's Rosary Society.

She did volunteer work for the American Lung Association and the American Heart Association. She loved gardening and cooking. She especially loved the beach and spending winters on Hutchinson Island, Fla. Born on Jury 25, 1933 in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Frances Camissa Rafia. On August 30, 1958 in Dobbs Ferry, she married Martin Blake Walsh.

Mn Walsh survives his wife at home in HopewellJunction. Morris was a retired sergeant of the City of Pough keepsie Police Department He was appointed as a patrolman in February of 1947 and retired in August of 1981 alter 34 years of dedicated service. He attended St Peter's School and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School A member of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Benevolent Association, he also belonged to the Poughkeepsie Elks Club, Lodge 275; and the Polish American Club. Mr. Morris was a member of St Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary, Fla During World War he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer U.S.S.

Mervine, assigned to the North Atlantic Fleet and the Mediterranean Ocean on convoy duty. Born in "Poughkeepsie on July 18, 1919, he was the son of Patrick E. Morris Sr. and Carrie Wenzel Morris. His wife, Elizabeth McGinnis, predeceased him in January of 1987.

Mr. Morris is survived by two sisters, Helen di Gennaro and Marlene Soloway, both of Poughkeepsie; two brothers, John A. Morris of DeBary, Fla. and Noel T. Morris of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Hilda O'Loughlin of New York City, Jean Ringwood of Middletown, N.Y and Myra Long of Poughkeepsie, and two brothers, Patrick E. Morris Jr. of Wappingers Falls and Nelson J. Morris of Poughkeepsie. Burial will take place in Mystic, Conn at the convenience of the family.

Jean Harrington Forbes RHINEBECK Jean Harrington Forbes, 75, of Rhinebeck, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 31, 2003, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. She was the secretary in the Social Work Department at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck from December 1972 until her retirement in January of 1990. Mrs. Forbes was a member of Third Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinebeck where she had served as the President of the Church Council and sang in the choir for over 35 years.

She was also a member and past president of the Rhinebeck Alumnae Assodatioa Jean was a past member of the Rebecca's (Odd Fellows), the VFW Auxiliary, the Rhinebeck Choral Club1, the Rhinebeck Garden Club, the Juvel 'nile Grange, the Junior Garden Club and the St Cecelia Choral Group. Lung specialist doctor, clinic founder dies NEW YORK Anne Logan Davis Wichern, a lung specialist at Bellevue Hospital Center who established one of the first emphysema clinics in the country, died March 9 of cancer at a Manhattan hospital She was 78. Davis founded the emphysema unit at Bellevue in 1956, seven years after arriving at the hospital as an intern. She served as the unit's director until two years ago, when it was merged into the hospital's chest and asthma units, A pioneer in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, Davis, as she was known professionally, directed the Bellevue chest clinic from 1987 to 1992. During that period, she oversaw roughly 6,000 patient visits a year.

Davis was born in Rahway, N.J. and graduated from Wellesley College in 194S She received her medical degree from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons four years later. Leader of failed Soviet coup is dead MOSCOW Valentin Pavlov, a former Soviet prime minister who helped lead the failed hardline coup against Mikhail Gorbachev in 1991, has died, Russian news reports said Monday.

He was 66 years old. Pavlov, who died Sunday after a long illness, began his career as a city financial inspector and rose slowly through the Soviet economic bureaucracy, becoming finance minister in 1989 and prime minister in January 1991, In August 1991, Pavlov and other Soviet hard liners calling themselves the State Emergency Committee announced Gorbachev was ill and isolated the reformist Soviet leader at a Black Sea resort Looking glum and nervous, eight of them sat together at a news conference to tell the nation their committee was in charge. They moved armored columns into Moscow but stopped short of using them on thousands of protesters, who rallied behind Boris Yeltsin, then president of the Russian republic. After just three days, the coup collapsed, Gorbachev was freed, and the plotters were arrested. Although the.

hard liners said they were trying to prevent USSR from disintegrating into chaos, the coup attempt precipitated its demise. Four months later, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus announced the Soviet Union defunct, forcing Gorbachev to resign on Dec. 25. A Dtrtchess County man admitted in court Tuesday he forged a Metro North railroad commuter pass worth more than $200. Michael Paponetti, 32, of Beacon, entered a guilty plea to secondsecond degree forgery, a felony, in proceedings before County Court Judge Gerald V.

Hayes. Paponetti told the judge he used a program on his personal computer to make a pass that looked like the monthly commutation tickets sold by Metro North. Assistant District Attorney Andrea Long, who prosecuted the case, said Paponetti boarded a train carrying the fake pass on Sept. 9, 2002. A conductor on the train, Richard Hatch, noticed the pass was the wrong color and notified Metro North police.

Paponetti was then arrested, Long said. Long told Hayes he had made several passes in various colors and had sold two of them. A monthly Metro North commuter pass costs $235. In exchange for his plea, Paponetti will be placed on probation for five years and will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device for up to six months. He will also be required to forfeit the computer program he used to make the false passes.
