Dessert Tea Presents Styles For Casual Life Latest fashions for casual living in Big Spring were shown Tuesday by local women with a flair for wearing clothes when two Catholic altar societies sponsored a style show and tea at Cosden Country Club. Using a Traffic Stopper theme, models wore clothes from Zack's with Mrs. Jim Zack doing the narration. Clothes ranged from the highest fashion in bathing suits to sleek but simple after-five numbers. An improvised traffic light was a pinata, fashioned by Mrs.

C. E. Renfro, and was hung in the center of the ballroom with bright red paper as the traffic stopper. All models carried traffic signs on sticks. Backdrop of.the stage was dotted with various highway warning signs and about the show area was an assortment of cleverly painted pictures to enlarge on the theme.

The show was presented under the chairmanship of Mrs. Wayne Basden. Organ music for the tea hour and the show was played by Easter Motifs An unusual array of motifs designed to please both mother and tiny tots and to decorate children's wardrobes with appealing embroidery subjects. Pattern No. C93 gives the instructions, and hot iron transfers.

Intermediate GA Has Tuesday Meet The Intermediate Girls Auxiliary of Baptist Temple met at the church Tuesday afternoon for a program on prayer for home missions. Mrs.

D. C. Boren read the missionary calendar and Jean Cox led a prayer for those listed. Participating in the telling of. a story were Joyce Little.john, Donna Boren, Miss Oox, Linda Morgan and Linda Leath.

Rebekah Lodges Plan Program And Initiate Rebekah Lodges met Tuesday evening as routine procedure, with -an initiation for members of one lodge. Plans for honoring the lodge founder were made by another of the groups.

BIG SPRING REBEKAH Mrs. J. L. Unger, Mrs. Leinie Fiippen and Mrs.

Jack Tibbs received the Rebekah degree at the Tuesday evening meeting of the Big Spring Rebekah Lodge No. 284. Setting for the candlelight ceremony was achieved with White candles and pink roses used to decorate the stations. Following the initiation, Mrs. Jim Ferguson, Mrs.

Joe Benfield and Mrs. Eddie R. McLain were appointed by Mrs. Harvey Harris, noble grand, to select the color to be used in the recreational hall. The St.

Patrick theme was used on the refreshment table by hostesses, Mrs. A. C. Wilkerson, Mrs. Gordon Hickman, Mrs.

Kee Rebekah Lodge, Tuesday evening at the lodge hall, announcement was mode of a program WMS Completes Mission Study Westside Baptist WMS met Tuesday at the church for the last part of a study entitled "The Dreamer Cometh." Mrs. Jake Trantham brought the devotion, and Mrs. Ted Brown gave the opening prayer. Mrs.

Brown and Mrs. C. L. Kirkland presented a skit, "The Dream Lives." Pictures of home mission work were shown and Mrs. J.

0. Murphy spoke on "Unique Witness in Manila." 1 Slides, "The Priceless Heritage in Missions," were presented to the group by Mrs. N. M. Hipp.

Special Meeting A special meeting of the Ever Ready Civic and Art Club will be held at the home of Mrs. G. W. Birt, 809 NW 6th, at 7:30 tonight. planned for the next session, which will honor the lodge founder, Schuyler Colfax.

Reports were heard, and members signified their intentions of attending Grand Assembly in San Antonio during the coming weekend. Included in the group are Mr. and Mrs. Jones Lamar, Mr. and Mrs.

Leon Cole, Mr. and Mrs. 0. G. Burns.

Style Parade Set For Borden County "Spring Style Festival" is the title of a fashion revue to be presented Friday evening in the Borden County High School auditorium. Time is set for 8 o'clock. Planned as a benefit, the style parade will be given by the Art Dress Shop of Snyder and sponsored by the BCB, auxiliary to the Borden County Sheriff's Posse. The public is invited to attend the style show prices are 50 cents for adults and 25 for children. Mary Zinn Circle Continues Study Study on "Basic Christian Beliefs" was continued at Tuesday's meeting of the Mary Zinn Circle of First Methodist Church.

Mrs. W. A. Laswell presented the study. Mrs.

Mary Guilliams worded the opening prayer. Questionnaires on "The Holy Spirit" were returned and discussed by the members. Mrs. T. G.

Adams gave the closing prayer. Thirteen members were present and one guest, Mrs. J. W. Maddrey.

Circle Members Present Program Christene Circle of First Baptist Church met with Mrs. T. V. Atkins, 1720 Gail Tuesday for a program on "Alcoholics and Narcotics Education." All circle members were present and participated on the program. Mrs.

W. B. Younger led the call to prayer and Mrs. C. T.

Clay led the closing prayer. Next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the home of Mrs. M. F.

Forum Units Make Plans For Meeting Of Western District Units of the Forum met Tuesday afternoon for programs and to complete plans for entertaining delegates to the meeting of Western District, Texas Federation of Women's Clubs, slated for March 23-24. SPOUDAZIO FOKA As part of the Texas Heritage observance by members of the Spoudazio Fora, a film, "Behind It AH," was shown Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. H. D. Stewart.

The film, based on the oil industry, was explained by Mrs. J. M. Hill, cohostess, and included scenes around Cosden Refinery; developing the story of oil Irom crude to gasoline, it included the formation of plastics, synthetics and other oil by-products. Other officers are, Mrs. Lawrence Oliver, vice president; Mrs. R. Gonzalez, secretary; and Mrs. Pete Mata, treasurer.

Mrs. Lige Fox gave the inspirational thought and program was presented by Gilbert Frietez's fifth grade. The program was "Mis Amigos," and told the story of Benito Juarez. Chosen to represent the unit at the spring conference, March 22, were Mrs. Hernandez and R.

G. Robertson. Room count was won by Mrs. Jo Ann Steward's third grade. The unit will have a door to door campaign March 30 as part of the education alert.
