He said he was particularly proud that Hyde Park would present the production of the O'Neill play, prior to its debut in New York next season. Jack Blackman, who Is designing the production of the musical, "Kicks and for Broadway, Is the Hyde Park designer this season. Co producingproducing with Mr. Samples is Harry C. LaTier and the associate producer in Howard Austin.

THREE MUSICALS, three dramas, three comedies and "Twelfth Night" by Shakespeare are on the playbill at the Cecilwood theater. Fish kill, as the Dutchess Players prepare for their 13th season. Producers for the third season are Lonny Chapman, Curt Conway and J. I. Rodale.

"Period of Adjustment," by Williams, will be the opening production. Starred will be Murray Hamilton, who appeared this season on Broadway in "Critic's Choice." Another comedy, "Under the Yum Yum Tree," Is listed July 18 23. Still another comedy, "Send Me No Flowers" is scheduled Autf. .8 13.. The popular musical, "Damn Yankees," will be given July 4 9 and.

"LULLABY," a comedy, is the opening play at the Starlight theater in Pawling with "Under the Yum Yum Tree," listed July 4 9. "Glais Menagerie," the hit by Williams (a popular author on the summer theater circuit) Is scheduled July 11 16, and the musical comedy, 'J6ay Darling," July 18 23. "Send Me No 'on Broadway last season, will be presented July 25 30. A new play, "Striped Sack for Penny Candy," gets a pre Broadway tryout, Aug. 1 6..

The foundation has arranged, an attractive summer schedule In the arts. In addition to the playhouse productions, SCAF wll have1 an art gallery, showings of classic motion pictures, a children's drama workshop, and a series of Beethoven beginning July 10 at the Scovllle Memorial library "in Salisbury, when critic Miles Kas tendleck will be featured. Subsequent programs will be given by guest artists. Two children's programs, the Bun in Puppets and Tom Two Arrows, are also planned.

Cardwell Is a veteran of the stage and television. He appeared in a dozen shows of "You'll Never Get Rich" with Phil Silvers and has been cast In. many of TV's top. dramatic programs. Betty Bright and Cricket Skllltng, Pawling favorites, will be back again for many of the plays.

Mr. Cardwell noted that Pawling will present Saturday matinees this season as an Innovation. The playhouse also has redecorated two lobbies and one of them wil be devoted to exhibitions of painting and sculpture. Bill Mullaney 'will direct at Pawling. He was starred off Broadway last season In "Donagoo." Robert Buxzell is the str.ge manager.

The company completed a busy 1959 60 season which included a fall tour under the direction of the National Music League of the East, an a brilliant winter season in Sarasota, Fla. This fall the company will tour the Great Lakes region, the Midwest and South and will again spend the winter at Sarasota. The performances include "Chanticleer" and "L'Enfant Prodlgue," July 14, 15, 17; Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," July 21, 22. 24; "The Medium" by Gian Carlo Men ottl, July 28, 29, 31; Mozart's "Cosl Fan Tutte," Aug. 4 and "The Secret Marriage" by Comarosa, Aug.

7, 11, 12. All of thutn, with the exception of Dubussy's "Le'Enfant Pro digue," will be sung in English. FOR THOSE persons who plan to be in the Phoenicia area, a visit to the Phoencla Playhouse might be in order. Ivor David Balding, recently with the Paper Mill Playhouse, and a past director of the American Theater in Paris, is opening his first season as producer there. The Kaufman Hart play, "Once in a Lifetime," a satire on Hollywood, opens July I and runs to July 9.

Directing will be Peter Bogdanvloch, who. did "The Big Knife" off Broadway. Joining Balding in the Phoenicia management I Thomas Hltchock Jr son of the famed, polo player, as associate producer. Mi.chael Lindsay Hogg, son of the distinguished actress, Geraldlne Fitzgerald, will direct three shows. THE LINEUP Includes a new effort, "All You Need Is One Good Break," plus "Camlno Real," "Under the Yum Yum Tree," "Seven Keys to Baldpate," "Rocket to the Moon," "The Cave Dwell ers" and "Ten Little Indians." Coffee will be served to the tbeater goers In the art gallery prior to each performance.
