The system, which set up in Dutchess, was singled out for praise in "Output, a monthly magazine dealing with automation "With this system it is estimated that as much as a week in jurors' mileage and per diem for initial interviews is being saved," Schoentag said. David Mohurter Sr. Dies; Widely Known For Robots BEACON David A. ter 81, of 9 Overlook Place. a retired machinist and auto mechanic, died yesterday in Highland Hospital.

A native of Beacon, he was born June 23, 1886, the son of the late A Alexander and Anna Mohurter. On Nov. 25, 1911, in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Louise Pectle, who survives. Mr. Mohurter formerly owned and operated his own garage and later was employed by the Henry Boston, Naturalist, 79 NOBLEBORO, Maine (AP) Henry E.

Beston, who, spent a year living in tiny shack on a windswept section of sand dunes on Cape Cod, and wrote about his experience in "The Outermost House," died Monday at his East Neck home near here. He was 79. When "'The Outermost House" was published in 1928, it won widespread acclaim for its description of the Cape Cod seashore and its wildlife. By 1961 it had reached its 28th printing. The naturalist wrote about his daily observations in long hand while seated at the kitchen table of his two-room cedar shingle shack.

The light came from a kerosene lantern. Beston said his year on Cape Cod proved to him that "a person needs to be close to nature and have a sense of religion to be a successful human being." He eventually gave the cottage, with 56 acres of dune land, to the national Audubon Society. In 1964, the shack was designatled a national historical site. He wrote nine other books after "The Outermost House," and traveled widely as a lecturer. He retired in 1954 and moved to Maine.

15, 1904, he was the son of the late Adelbert T. and Mattie (Rhynus) Cookinham. Mr. Cookigham was past master and treasurer of the Warren Lodge, F. and A.M.; past mas- pany.

and a member of the Schultzville Church. Mr. Cookinham is survived by an aunt and several cousins. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home Pleasant Valley.

David Tuttle Services Set DAVID TUTTLE Members of the Cataract Hose Company and the Exempt Firemen's Association will conduct a joint service at the Fraleigh Funeral Home, 41 Marshall tonight at 7:30 o'clock for David Tuttle, 76, Charles Street Court, who died yesterday at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Tuttle and his wife, the former Helen Wermuth, had resided in Front Street for 55 years before they were forced to move to make way for the Riverview Urban Renewal Project 1. The funeral will be tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Mr. Mohurter was widely known for his parade robots. He had firemen, musicians, dancers, Bible characters, pioneers, and members of a fire company auxiliary, in all about 130 mechanical men and women and better than a dozen animals. They were all made of unpainted motor oil cans with the simplest possible accessories, but his characters marched, played musical instruments, sang, and danced. His robots were used in many Beacon parades.

A 63-year member of the Beacon Engine Company, Mr. Mohurter was a former drill master, foreman and lineman officer of the company. He also was a member of the Beacon Lodge Fellows and the First Methodist Church, Beacon. In his earlier years, Mr. Mohurter was a pitcher for the former Ducks baseball team in Beacon.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Mohurter is survived by David A. Mohurter Beacon; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Patterson, Darien, a sister, Mrs. Mary Westerfield, Millbrook; and three grandchildren.

Man Admits Larceny Charge In Store Case Robert E. Whitcomb Brookside Gardens, Falls, is to be sentenced May 8 in the embezzlement of funds from The Thom McAn shoe store that he formerly managed in Imperial Plaza.
