I fyyy rEifw tfA.iW J. 2 mier Rogers Heocs Entrants 7 County Athletes In State Track Meet By WILLIAM STANTON Arlington High School two milcr Wayne Rogers and six other athletes from Dutchess County are eligible to compete In the New York State Public High Schools Athletic Association's lntersectional meet Satur day. The lntersectional, commonly rererrea to as the state meet, will be conducted at Ty Cobb Stadium In Endicott. The competition, which is to feature stars from everywhere in the state but New York City, will Degin 10 a.m. Rogers, Section One two mile champ and Section One Class AA A mile king, is one of three athletes from Freedom Plains who have qualified.

Pole vault ers David Roger and Jack Doyle are expected to make the trip, too. Rogers has a best time of 9:23.8 for the race of eight laps and has done the first mile in as fast as 4:36. In the open mile he has run 4:22. Roger, Dutchess County Scholastic League champion, and Doyle, the runner up, cleared 12 feet, 6 Inches to finish among the top three In the Section One Open Meet In White Plains. The performances of Rogers, Roger and Doyle were the kev to Arlington's and coach Bill Murphy's third a 1 unbeaten season in the Dutchess County Scholastic League.

The Admirals also remained atop the A schools of Section One for the third straight year, sharing first with Lakeland In the Class A meet in Shrub.Oak. In Wappincers Vails the peo ple are talking about Roy C. 1 a high hurdler Gary Delia Rocco and John Jay auar termller Terr Johnson. Delia Rocco, DCSL champ in ootn tne high and low hurdles, has run the former event in the state Junior class record time of 14.1 seconds. He was third In the highs and lows at the Class AA A meet and third in the highs at the Open meet.

Mount Vernon's Mike Young pre season pick of the New York State Sports Writers Association for the high hurdles, has mastered Delia Rocco so far but the Ketcham athlete has proved he can turn it around. The DCSL large schools had three fine throwers in Arlington's Jed Ackerman, Ketcham's Don Mo a and Poughkeepsle's Larry Sosna but the Blazer fling king proved to be the best of them all. Outstanding athletes from Westchester County include 100 men Charles Hayes of New Kochelle and Dan Bierderman of Scarsdale (10.0), 220 man Greg Owens of Mount ernon (22.1 on a curve), Alexander Hamilton 440 man James Redd (47.5), Mount Vernon triple jumper Ken McBryde (50 8) and hurdlers Earl Crutchfield of New Rochelle and Young. Parkin, Wheeler Capture Titles In Decathlon HYDE PARK Kirk Parkin and Tom Wheelr won champi onships at Roosev It High School's annual decathalon com petition. Parkin captured wins In the 220 yard dash and the 880 and mile runs to win the track division crown with a scoring record of 912 points.

Wheeler took the open title for the second straight year and established a points mark in the process. He mounted up 500 to break the 473 mark he set last spring. He set a division and decathalon record in the 220 yard dash, winning in 23.5 seconds. In the track division, Phil Theodoseau placed second with a 512 total, followed by Dennis Doughty 484, Charles "Gordon 285. Keith Horan 225, Don Traver 194, Jay Burkhard 181 and Dave Conlon 101.

Tom Chahanovich finished second in the open contest with 228 points. Trailing were Mark Lyvers wno tied an open standard in the high jump with a leap of five feet, two inches, 221, Al i 178, Mark Softy 153 and Fred Williams 45. Doughty tied Dave Bethea's track division mark in the 220 yard dash, crossing the line in 24.5 seconds.
