It was Johnson's second consecutive no hitter and the 14th of her career and the sixth no hitter for the pitching staff this year. SOFTBALL "She was very much in control." said Pine Plains coach Bob Stevenson. "They never had a runner past first, and they only had baserunners, in the first and sixth.

It might 1e Judy' strongest pitching ever. She was never in any was Just a outstanding game by both pitchers," added Stevenson. "We saw her two years ago and she was poor. She made tremendous progress and was probably the best pitcher we've faced all year." Pine Plains will now play a double header tomorrow against top seed Ardsley on the road. In the bottom of the first after two were out, Johnson singled, stole second and went to third on Repassed ball.

Jean Gutierrez walked. Pine Plains then executed a double steal with Johnson scoring the winning run of the game. played very well." said Stevenson. 'The garrte was played the way it should be played at this level. We were able to steal a run and was able to hold it up." MILLBROOK 11.

too. Arnesen's ball handling skills, especially in a tight, man tomantoman situation, are the best amongst area ball players. Her ability to shield theball and strength to ward off defenders makes her. a threat in the offensive end. Add to that the ability to score goals from upwards to 35 yards away from goal and you have the complete offensive player.

"No matter what teams try to do to defense her, she still has the ability to score goals," said Arlington coach, Gary Montalto. "She was prtbably the most valuable player for us this season since we looked primarily to her to score goals! With our inexperience to the outside of Rebln (Lotze) in midfield, most of offensive buildup did not come through the middle but from the front line instead and Laura was the key to that." Jhanji is one of the newcomers on the scene. The sophomore paced the Spartans' scoring attack with goals in almost every game this season, Snackcnkill coach Don DeLorenzo LITTLE LEAGUE says she shows more skills nun most sophomores, understands tflMv me well and displays good quiefnrai. Shields, a. senior right winger, has the talent to score 'but she is most dangerous as a playmaker.

If given room, she's able to take the ball on the offensive as a striker or midfielder, a role she occasionally played. Lotze didn't have the offensive season she displayed last season, but her play is still considered best in mid field The Junior maintains possession well, rarely loses single defenderdefender encounters and was the key to the Admirals' stingy defense. Fernandes capped her four year scholastic career with another strong season. Coach Leon Jacobs feels she is the ultimate dream player with speed, ball control and a steady defensive effort. Pachla, recently named to the New York State Select team with Arnesen and Lotze, reads the game very well and seldom is caught out of position.

Montalto said the junior's intelligent play was the major reason the Ket cham midfield stayed strong this year. Smart has been described as "the natural defender" by Jacobs. Follow ing a disappointing junior season riddled with injuries, she displayed much better ability to read the game better and anticipate passes to offensive players, often stepping in the way for interception. Her play was vital in the Lady Patriots' 11 shutouts this season. Huggins was Montalto's unsung hero of the team.

Her primary asset this season was her ability to challenge a ball carrier, strip them of the ball and open the attack the other way. "She's the type of player that takes no prisoners," said Rich Arnesen, her travel team coach. "If yeu gel by Julie, you've done a job." Harper was one of the fastest defensive backs in the Conference A North league this season, said Jacobs. Her ball control, play making and overlap ability made her a threat at all times and from all positions. Mahar was the iron hand ruler of the Spackenkill defense, said De Lorenzo.

The senior sweeper has 'strong ball control skills, good shooting ability and showed a great deal of quarterbacking ability from her defensive position. Gershuny, a sophomore, is playing beyond her years and has the ability to become the best goalie this area has produced, according to DeLorenzo. Although small in size, she makes up for that with quickness, good anticipation and good hands. WOR 9 SATURDAYS WTZA 42 SAT. 1 1 AM vv.

Eric Holden, president of Eric J. Holden and Associates of North Dallas, Texas, who gave Fryer a lie detector test Monday, told The Boston Herald: "After an extensive interview and development of the examination, it's my opinion conclusively that he (Fryer) is truthful in his statements that since turning pro, he had never himself gambled or bet on any NFL football games or had ever allowed or let anyone use his name or his money to gamble on any NFL game." Fryer, who reportedly under investigation by the league for alleged gambling, voluntarily took the 3Whour test Monday, according to Sherwood Blount, Fryer's Dallas based agent who arranged for the lie detector test. "I got Mr.

Holden's name from a number of high ranking and respected law enforcement officials throughout the southwest." Blount' said. NOTICE TO BIDDERS Health 4. Trainer Supplies. Athletic Supplies. Industrial Arts Sueolles, Physical Educa tion Supplies Elementary and Physical Education Supplles Secondary.
