GAY NEW ORLEANS SEES RETURN WIDE DPEN GAMBLING REMARKS HUEY LONG LEAD TO BELIEF LUXURIOUS CASINOS TO REOPEN Featured at Palace Theatre Friday NEW ORLEANS, May 30. New Orleans prepared today for the return of its luxurious gambling casinos as Senator Huey P. LOUS expressed "dad- gum disgust" over his "purity drive efforts to stop games ol chance. "I dont care, if they ve pot to gamble, just so lonp as they dont make it the whole institution around here," the senator said a radio speerh last, "I'll be if it ain't a puzzlin' thins to do ut the gambling around here, he said.

"I'm dnd-pnm disgusted at trying to police every half-square and half-house. You can't close up gambling where the people want to gamble." The bright lights of carefree New Orleans have been dimmed since the momentous political battle last September between Long and Mayor T. fiemmes Walmsley for cont'rol of city affairs. Long directed a legislative investigation of the city administration, alleging the city was rampant with disorderly houses and over-run with gambling establishments. The lid was clamped down.

Long's candidates beat those of Walmsley after the senator brought 2,000 national guardsmen to the city and Mayor Walmsley added to his police force to give him almost an equal number of men. Col. Clarence Young, Pacific division manner of Pan American Airways, was in New York and no one at the offices of the Airline here would confirm the report. The same crew of six that successfully manned the 19-ton four- motored craft on its pioneering commercial hop to Hawaii will fly the plane on its next -journey, according to the Tribune.

The contents of the German draft were kept as secret as previous drafts drawn up by Britain, France and latly. Well-informed quarters, however, said that Germany specified that a full French first line air force of 1,700 planes must be taken as the limit for an air convention.
