Mosley is set to connect0with people Thursday night when he hosts a CD release party at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock for his Woodstock Music Works CD, "Light Blood." Imagine James Taylor with an edge "Sweet Baby James" riding rough and ready on the open prairie. But Mosley does not embrace that singer songwriter'ssongwriter's softer side. "He was a really strong early influence," Mosley said of Taylor. "Before I eyer started writing my own music, I could sing his whole catalog." Mosley lives in Brooklyn but said, "I'm alive in Woodstock." Heard by a fellow Texan He will be backed by bass and drums Thursday night and will count among his audience members Lisa Hantes, manager of the Bearsville Theater. Hantes has been booking Mosley at the theater since stumbling upon him at a 2006 Woodstock house party.

"He was playing when I walked in," said Hantes, who is also from Texas. "I heard the music from the outside and I said, 'Hmmm. That's Mosley has played at the Bearsville six times so far in 2007. Hantes said she was initially taken by "just the freshness of it. It also remmded me of home on one level, but it was something you don't hear very often.

The song writing was just poignant The lyrics just pulled you in." Mosley said youwill learn more than a bit about him through his music. His new record, he said, is "confessional. We learn that I've hit some bumps and my heart's been through the ringer in some ways."
