22 Poughkpiie Journol Fridoy, Dcmbr 23. 1983 Obituaries Lawrence Vernon Gribble WAPPINGERS FALLS Lawrence Vernon Gribble, who for Che past 24 years was an airline industry consultant with IBM in White Plains, died Wednesday at Vassar Brothers Hospital after a long ill ness. Mr. Gribble. 52, was a resident of J01 Brothers Road in Wappingers Falls.

He was a moderator and member 6f the First Baptist Church. 280 Mill SU City of Poughkeepsie. He was also a past trustee of the church and past superintendent of the Sunday school. Mr. Gribble was president of the Wappingers Central District school board for five years and a member of the board for seven years.

He attended Pennsylvania schools. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1959. He was bom Aug. 23, 1931. in Un lontown.

the son of the late Cecil V. Gribble and Marie Blake Gribble of Uniontown. He was married Jan. 25. 1959, in Uniontown, to Norita Mulligan, wbo survives.

In addition to his wife and mother. Mr. Gribble is survived by a son. William Todd Gribble of Wappingers Falls: one daughter, Marita Beth Gribble of Wappingers Falls, one brother. Harry W.

Harvey Ferris KsSSSSSSSSvST isbsbsbsbsbwXbibbsbsbsbsbbsm WAPPINGERS FALLS Mary Eula Van De Mark, who was a teacher for various rural schools in Dutchess County, died Thursday at the Baptist Home of Rhinebeck after a brief illness. She was 76.

She later worked in the Wappingers Central School District as a tutor. Mrs. Van De Mark, of Myers Corners Road In Wappingers Falls, was a lifelong Dutchess County resident. She was a member of the New Ifackensack Reformed Church in Wappingers Falls. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie schools and a 1927 graduate of the Seymour Smith Teachers Academy In Pine Plains.

She was bom March 24. 1907. in Poughkeepsie. the daughter of Homer and Letlie Gimbert Sitser. She was married Sept.

11. 1930, in Wappingers Falls to John W. Van De Mark, a U.S. postal carrier who died May 19. 1962.

Two sisters, Emily Wolfe and Grace de Cordova, predeceased her. Mrs. Van De Mark is survived by two daughters. Joan Palmateer of Wappingers Falls and Velma Au mick or Wallkill; one brother. Nelson Sitser of Fishkill Plains: three granddaughters and three nieces.

There will be no calling hours. Services and burial will be private. Donations in Mrs. Van De Mark's memory may be made to the New Hackensack Reformed Church or the Baptist Home of Rhinebeck. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert II.

Sanfilippo WAPPINGERS FALLS C. Harvey Ferris, who in 1961 retired after 12 years as a cost accountant for the former De Laval Separator Co. in Poughkeepsie. died Thursday at Vassar Brothers Hospital. Mr.

Ferris. 7, of W. Main Street. was a resident of Wappingers Falls for 55 years. He previously lived In Cornwall (Orange County) He was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church, Main Street.

Wappingers Falls. He was a 60 year member of the Masons In Morristown, and a member of the Silver Circle Club at De Laval. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He graduated from the Indiana Normal School and attended Indiana University.

He was born July 12. 1896. In Foun talntown, the son of Olis and Cora Vernon Ferris. He was married in Wappingers Falls in 192S to Margaret Smith, who survives. In addition to his wife.

Mr. Ferris is survived by one son, John R. Ferris of Poughkeepsie; one sister. Frances Shearer of Indiana; three brothers. Harry Ferris.

Dale Ferris and Glen Ferris, all of Indiana; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the Roberts Slraub Funeral Home. 55 E. Main Wappingers Falls, with Masonic services at 7:10 m. Those attending are asked to use the Mesier Avenue entrance.

Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Episcopal Church or the Dutchess County unit of the American Cancer Society. Stanley Beatty NEW PALTZ Stanley Beatty. 77. who was employed by the Clinlondale Cold Storage Co. until his retirement in 1969.

died Thursday at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston after a brief illness. Mr. Beatty. of Route 125. was a lifelong resident of New PalU.

He was a member of the Reformed Church of New PalU. He was also a member of the New Palt2 Gardiner Senior Citizens and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was born Jan. 11. 1906.

Mr. Sanfilippo. 70. of Franklindale Avenue, was a resident of Wappingers Falls for 61 years. He previously lived in the Bronx.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Garner Engine Company, both in Wappingers Falls. He was born Aug. 5, 1911. in the Bronx, the son of Anthony and Mary LoBianco Sanfilippo.

He was educated in Wappingers schools. He was married in 1916 in Wappingers Falls to Mary Lopez, who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sanfilippo is survived by one daughter, Dolores Wiegard of Wappingers Falls; one sister, Kathertne Schettino of St. Petersburg.

Tirk lived in the City of Poughkeepsie most of her life. She was born Sept. 28j 1891. in Kingston, the daughter of George and Helen Thompson Bush. She was married to Floyd II.

Tirk, who died in December 1974. Mrs. Tirk is survived by a daughter. Audrey Donald of Poughkeepsie; three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. There will be no calling hours.

Gentile, 68. of Masten Road, had been a resident of Pleasant Valley for two years. He previously lived in White Plains (Westchester County). He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.

1915. in Yonkers, the son of Dominick and Berna dine DeGennaro Gentile. He was married Aug. 20, 1918. in Yonkers to Clara Ann DeBiase, who survives.

In addition to his wife. Mr. Gentile is survived by a son, Frank M. Gentile Jr. of Pleasant Valley; one daughter, Bernadine Zammiello of Stanfordville; three sisters.

WORCESTER (Otsego County) Mary C. Edwards. 62. of Worcester, died Wednesday at M.l. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown (Otsego County)County) A former resident of Wappingers Falls, Mrs.

Edwards had been a clerk at the former Grandway store in Wappingers. She retired in 1972. A resident of Worcester for the last four years, she formerly lived in Red Hook. She also lived in North Carolina and Florida. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Mrs. Edwards was born Sept. 27. 1921. in Seattle.

the daughter of William and Esther Levine Cantor. She graduated from Hawthorne Junior High School and the School of Commerce in Yonkers (Westchester County). On Nov. 8, 1942, she was married In Yonkers to Raymond J. Edwards, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Wilma Travis of Worcester; two sons. Joseph H. Edwards of Milwaukee. and Charles W. Edwards of Immo kalee, two sisters.

Cameron, 73, died Wednesday at Lanier Park Hospital after a long illness, said hospital spokeswoman Anita Smith. He was born Dec. 7, 1910. in Calgary, Alberta. His early movies included "Christmas in July." 1940; "Northwest Mounted Police." 1940; "Wake Island." 1942; "Gung Ho," 1941; "Boss of Boomtown," 1944; "The Bride Wasn't Willing." 1946; "Panhandle." 1949; "The Sea Hornet," 1951, and "Ride The Man Down." 1953.

Cameron later appeared in "The Gun Hawk," 1963; "The Bounty Killer," 1965; "The Last Movie." 1971, and "Evel Knievel." 1971. He played detective Bart Grant in the "City Detective" television series from 1951 to 1955 and starred in TV's "State Trooper" from 1956 to 1959. He had retired to Gainesville several years ago. Emery Catherine R. Connolly. 84. of 89 Worrall died Wednesday at Vassar Brothers Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs.

Connolly had been a City of Poughkeepsie resident for about 60 years. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity. 775 Main Town of Poughkeepsie. She was born July 26, 1899, in County Galway, Ireland, the daughter of Anthony and Mary Canavan. She was educated in Ireland.

She was married June 3. 1931, in Poughkeepsie to Thomas J. Connolly, who died May 10. 1977 Mrs. Connolly is survived by a daughter, Kathleen King of Placen lia, three sons, Robert J.

Connolly of Placentia. Calif Raymond Connolly of Poughkeepsie and Thomas J. Connolly of Kingston; three sisters, Mary Connolly of Belmont, Barbara Rutledge and Anne Walsh, both of Dorchester. two brothers.
