under the old trees on the church lawn He said many a time seen the young folks gather ed in the shade a teacher in their midst having their Sunday School under the trees and he is afraid with the raising of the fine new building the custom will be lost When we were a Sunday School youngster we used to stare out the open window many a summer Sun day the teacher's voice lazy dtone in out eais our whole mind filled with the notion that could sn easily be good if the rules of goodness wete just a little less un comfortable for our body that out soul could really soar if our feet were only turned loose to roam But that was not the idea pre vailing in the days of our Presby terian childhood Comfort and ease of body satisfaction and self gratification were not supposed to accompany and they most as sm dly did not flow front the ideals religious training that encompassed oui growing up It ts rather the ideas of discipline of mind of flesh and of soul ri gors of strict adherence and the dei mess of unswerving loyalty to the doctrine as they were inter pt clod for us 1 sometimes we think about it and decide its small wonder we made such a poor showing There just seemed to be so inspection lane is back ton anti after careful tion and a summary of ments made by the people of this immediate territory concern ing the mechanical inspection lane this paper has reached the conclusion that the system now in practice is the biggest waste of time and energy for motorists uf this area that has been intro dttced here The lanes make cut down accidents but we do not want to rse from one to twe days work per person in doing it the wrong way Within the last few days there have been in line for three blocks waiting a turn tr alone caurcs The three streets that have been lined with automobiles liavt caused almost a one way street on each he three which net only tends to make a hazard but also keeps traffic from flow ing evenly through ur city The most important loss as see it is the loss of time from a place of employment If for example there are 100 people wa in line for the inspection of their vehicles and these people wait on an average of 30 nvrutes then there has been a lor of 50 man hours of work However this is a low figure to be sure It has been pointed out Us that some people have waited as long as one whole day in 'ine and then would have to come back second day before their automobile was inspect ed Here a great loss of both time ami money which is not nec essary nor is rt the comntonsense way If man have case be a the convenience of the
