1. OCTOBER 17, 1965 POUGHKEEPSIE JOURNAL Mrs. Travis, 58, Dies; Mrs. Was Walter H. Clerk of Wappinger Travis, 58, Chel- sea Road, Hughsonville, who for the last six years has served as clerk of the Town of Wappinger, died yesterday at Vassar Hospital after a brief illness.

The former Miss Helen L. Morie, she was born in Beacon on June 5, 1907, the daughter of Mrs. Helen M. Hamilton Morie and the late John D. Morie.

Mrs. Travis was married March 2, 1934, in Wappingers Falls, residing in that area since her marriage. She attended Beacon Schools and the Sargent Industrial School and was graduated from Spencer's Business College, Newburgh Previous to her election as town clerk, she had served for two years as deputy clerk. For many years, Mrs. Travis served as the Wappingers Falls correspondent for the Poughkeepsie Journal.

She was organizer of the Wappingers Falls Health Association, a member of the Wappingers, Falls Methodist Church president of the Women's Society of Christian Services for many years, steward of the Official Board of the Methodist Church, a member and past president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Hughsonville Fire Company, a of the Auxiliary of the Chelsea Fire Company, and a member of the Women's Republican Club of Wappingers Falls and the ess County Wornen's Republican Club. Survivors. in addition to her husband and mother, include a daughter, Mrs. John A. House Jr.

MRS. WALTER H. TRAVIS Hughsonville. and four grandchildren Sheryll Ann, Wendy Sue. Helen Hazel and Timothy Walter House.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Roberts Funeral Home, Wappingers Falls. Tuesday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Robert E. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Wappingers Rural Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. The Hughsonville Women's Auxiliary will conduct a service at the funeral home at 7:30 o'clock tomorrow night. Mrs. Florence Boeckel, Was Prominent Journalist Mrs.

Forence Brewer Boeckel, who left Poughkeepsie to become a prominent woman journalist and champion of woman suffrage. died Friday night in Washington, D. after a long illness. Mrs. Boeckel.

79, was a special investigator for city schools in 1910 and 1911, and a feature and Mr. Robertson Was Active in City Charles C. Robertson, 15 Hammersley retired vice president of the Marine Midland Bank of Southeastern New York, who died yesterday in a hospital at Greenwich, had been a resident of this city since 1931 and for years was active in community affairs. A native of Brooklyn, he was graduated from Yale University in 1921 and was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He did graduate work at New York University.

Prior to becoming associated with the First National Bank, predecessor of Marine Midland, here, he was with the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City, the Irving Trust New York, and the National Commercial Bank and Trust Albany. He was the son of the late Averell S. Robertson, who died in 1940, and Mrs. Mabel Morton Coles Robertson, who died in 1956. Mrs.

Robertson was a descendant of Francis Hopkins, one the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and was distantly related to the late Abner Doubleday of baseball fame. In September, 1964, Mr. Robertson received a plaque in recognition of his outstanding services and contributions to the Consumer Credit Association of Greater Poughkeepsie. He was a charter member and former president of the association. Mr.

Robertson served in the Navy in World War I. Among his other activities, he was president of the Poughkeepsie Chapter, American Institute of Banking, once served as county chairman of the National Service fund drive of the Disabled American Veterans, and as chairman of the Advanced Gifts division in an annual campaign of Dutchess County Chapter, American Red Cross. He was a member of the Amrita Club, Dutchess Golf and Country Club and Euterpe Glee Club. Mr. Robertson was named vice president of Marine Midland in 1960, specializing in the development of installment lending and the Midland time plan.

He retired May 1, 1964, and was honored at a dinner. Mr. Robertson, who had been visiting with his sister, Mrs. Henry C. Minor Riverside, had been ill for some time and died in Greenwich Hospital.

His sister is his only immediate survivor. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Paul's Church, Riverside, at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be private.

Memorial services are to be scheduled later in Poughkeepsie. CHARLES C. John R. Riker, In Colorado Springs Word has been received here of the death of John Robert Riker on Sept. 17. in Colorado Springs. as a result of an accidental gunshot wound.

Burial was in Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Denver. on Sept. 21.

Mr. was the son of Mrs. Ruth B. Riker, 30 Hooker and Chief Warrant Officer John R. Riker.

Mrs. Peter K. Connelly, Center Moriches, L.I, yesterday after a brief illness. Miss Bogardus was employed for many years as a saleswoman and buyer for the Wallace Company. Other survivors include a brother, John L.

Bogardus, Ocean Grove, N.J., and two nieces, Mrs. Conrad Reiman, Scarsdale and Mrs. Thomas H. Martzloff, Summit. N.J.

Schroeder, In His 58th Year was an inspector for The De Laval Separator Co. He was of Mt. Carmel Churemmaicant active in the Boy Scouts. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, August Hyde Park. Arrangements, under the direction of the Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, 218 Mill are incomplete.

Two years later, she was appointed editorial director of the National Council for the Prevention of War, a post she served in for 14 years. Mrs.

Boeckel was a member of the National Council of Women's Party, and a founding member of the National Women's Press Club. She was the author of four books.
