It's officially summer, school's out, etc Have a picnic. Go see some music Let's get to the listings. A Mlnt Fest: There'll be plenty of music up Woodstock way this weekend.

Behind Barlow's, Route 212, Bearsville, they're throwing a thing called Woodstock Alive, Saturday and Sunday from noon 8 p.m. featured performers Saturday are The Wallers, Fabulous Rhinestones, Futu Futu and The Phantoms. Lcvon Helm and the All Stars, Dr. John and The Chili Brothers are featured Sunday. Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 at the gate, and are available at Abrams Music in Kingston, Record City in Poughkeepsie, Not Fade Away Tie Dye in New Paltz, the Rhinebeck Health Food Store, and the Tinker Street Cafe and Haggler's Antiques in Woodstock.

At the Civic Center: Quick, name a blues rock guitarist. Did you say Stevie Ray Vaughan? Good Yep, ol Stevie Ray comes tearing back into town Tuesday at 7:31, at the Mid Hudson Civic Center, Market Street, Poughkeepsie. He's touring in support of his latest album. In Step. Clubs 'nv Concerts It's taken Stevie Ray just six years to go from best newcomer in Guitar Player magazine's poll to the standard, the one folks think of immediately when blues and rock come to mind.

Stevie Ray will be joined by his band Double Trouble. Indiana's own Henry Lee Summer opens the show. If you saw Henry Lee at his Chance gigs last summer, you know you're in for a revival Tickets arc $18. Tonight, put on your tie dye shirt and listen to the New Potato Caboose. They say they don't want to be called the Dead's little brothers anymore, but when you've got seven guys in your band, including two drummers, a full time lyricist, and your repertoire is full of neo psychedella, what are people supposed to think? Tickets are $8.50. Saturday, the Chance presents an evening with longtime local favorites Zebra.

Tickets are $13.50. Sunday, Branford Manalis makes his first appearance in the Mid Hudson Valley, at 8. He's touring in support of his new record, Trio Jeepy, which he says borrows sounds from the Sonny Rollins Ben Webster school of jazz. If you're a jazz fan, don't miss this one (for more on ansa lis, see the story on page ID). Tickets are $19.50 (reserved), and $16 50 for general admission.

At the Crier The Towne Crier, Route 22, Pawling, presents a summer solstice special concert tonight at 9.30 with the Richard Brooks Quartet and Friends. Brooks, best known as the violinist of Solstice (there's the rub), has worked with the Paul Winter Consort, among others. His band includes Nick Bariluk on keyboards, George Skidd on bass and Allan Pugielli on drums.

Also appearing is performance artist Bob Balo. Tickets are $10. Saturday, jazz guitarists Bucky and John Pizzarelli come to the Crier. Bucky has played with some of the greats Benny Goodman.
