1 71 IN 129 871 TSP OBITUARIES SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2007 POUGHKEEPSIE JOURNAL Catherine Frater TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE Catherine Frater, 53, of the Town of Poughkeepsie resident for over 27 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 early evening at St. Francis Hospital. She was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie. Born Aug.

15, 1954 in Beacon, she was the daughter of Adele and George Addley. On Jan. 2. 1979. Catherine Addley married Converse (Scott) Aswaldo Frater, who survives in the Town of Poughkeepsie Catherine was known as "Cat" to family and loved ones.

She attended Beacon High School and later attended Delhi University in Upstate New York. where she received her RN degree As a servant for the Lord, she spent over 30 years ensuring the health and safety of all those who she came in contact with Cat worked as an RN at the Veterans Affairs Medical Cen ter in Castle Point She then went on to spend over two decades as an RN working at Fishkill Correction al Facility in Fishkill. NY She leaves behind her husband and most priceless possessions. her three children. two daughters.

Eliz abeth Frater and Adrienne Randall. her one and only son. Scotty Frater and her son in law. Nacem Randall Other survivors include her two babies. her grandchildren, Nyasia and Sa Maya, two sisters.

Mary Lois McClenney of Florida and Linda Addley of Poughkeepsie, one aunt. Mary Jones, nieces and nephews, Kira Lowe. Damon McNair, Tashiana Guerrier. Julie and Nicole Corley; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. First visitation will be held Wednesdav.

Oct. 3 from 6-8 p.m., at Rhodes Funeral Homes. 43 Fairview Poughkeepsie. Second visitation will be Thursday. Oct.

Hahn. 93 of Salt Point, died Friday, September 28. 2007 at her residence. Born January 5, 1914 in New Hackensack, NY, she was the daughter of Walter and Caroline Pink Howell. Edna graduated from Poughkeep, sie High School and then attended New Paltz Normal School graduating in 1936 on her way to becoming a teacher.

She first taught in 2 one-room schools for several years, and went on to teach first grade at Traver Road Elementary School in Pleasant Valley for many years, retiring in 1970. On December 3, 1932 she married Thomas G. Hahn Sr. at New Hackensack Reformed Church. Mr.

Hahn predeceased her on December 17, 1995. Together Mr. and Mrs. Hahn operated Ne'erest Farm in Salt Point. At the time, the farm had been in the family for over 100 years, and is still in the family today, operated by their son, Thomas Hahn, Jr.

She and her husband were active in the Holstein-Fresian Association and Cornell Cooperative Extension; and were instrumental in bringing modern principles into old fashioned family farming. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Salt Point. Edna was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing and selling flowers and vegetables at the family's farm stand. She also enjoyed quilting. Edna is survived by her 4 children; her daughter, Barbara Butts and her husband, John Butts of Gilbertsville, NY, her daughter, Johanne Hagar and her husband, B.

Sheldon Hagar of Morrisonville, NY, daughter Jeanne Halstead and her husband, Gilbert Halstead of Salt Point, and her son, Thomas G. Hahn Jr. and his wife, Karen Hahn of Salt Point; 11 grandchildren. Benjamin Hagar, Peter Hagar, David Hagar, William Hagar, Deborah Butts Tomanocy, Daniel Butts, Alec Halstead, Gretchen Halstead Schwartz. Lorelei Hahn Woodruff, Thomas Wagner and Richard Wagner; 12 great grandchildren, and Raymond Olson, whom the Hahns raised like a son.

Edna was predeceased by 3 grandchildren, John Butts Susan Butts and Thomas Hahn III; 3 sisters, Dorothy Howell Hitsman, Marian Howell Ross and Anita Howell Butler, and one brother, Augustus Howell. Visitation will be Monday 5-8 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday. 12 noon from West minster Presbyterian Church, Salt Point Tpke, Salt Point. Interment will follow in Salt Point Cemetery Memorial donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church of' to a charity of choice.

He is survived by his mother, Leah Scheuerman and his stepfather, John Coleman of Poughkeepsie and his father and stepmother, David and Karen Woronoff of Aurora, Colorado. Stefan was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and was raised in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Lagrange.

New York. Stefan was a graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado. He was a software engineer for Gerber Systems Corp. in Englewood, Colorado and later for the Nokia Corporation in San Diego, CA. and Oulu, Finland.

Three years ago he moved to Phuket to form a business venture. Stefan, who loved sports, travel, and adventure became a skilled race car driver while living in Thailand. Other survivors include his sisters. Bonnie Rind and her husband, David, and their daughter, Alena of Waltham, Mass. and Robin Woronoff of Aurora, Colorado.

Services and burial were held in Sharon, Massachusetts. The family will receive friends at 44 Schyler Drive, Poughkeepsie on the evenings of October 2nd and 3rd. New York 12590. Catherine Ann Duncan PAWLING Catherine Ann Duncan. 76, a lifelong resident of Pawling. NY, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at her sister's home in Kissimmee, FL. Ms.

Duncan was born in Pawling, NY on July 17, 1931 to the late Clyde W. and Catherine Mulligan Duncan. She worked for 37 years as a Therapy Aide at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center before retiring and was lifelong communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Palwing. In addition to her parents, Ms.

Duncan is also predeceased by her sister. Janice E. Duncan; brother, John H. Duncan; and nieces, Lisa M. Frink and Joann Frink McLernon.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Frink of Kissimmee, FL; sister-in-law, Olene A. Duncan of Dover Plains, NY; nieces, Jill Goude of St. Petersburg, FL and Theresa Mead of Pawling; nephews, Ralph Frink of Long Island, VA and John P. Duncan of Dover Plains, NY; great nieces, Heather and Lilly Mead of Pawling and Catherine McLernon of Kissimmee, FL; great nephews, Roth, serving in the US Navy, Cieorge nor and Tanner Duncan of Dover Plains, Eric Frink of Fishkill, NY and Ross Falik of Atlanta, GA, as well as several cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2nd at 9am.

She was born July 13, 1945 in Chester Township, NJ, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian Mae Sillsbury O'Dell.

Florence especially loved children and was encouraging and inspiring. She was a "generous soul" who was always there for anyone in need of help. On July 9, 1977, she married Walter J. Shuster, Jr. Walter predeceased her on May 27, 2007.

Florence is survived by her loving children: three sons; James R. Shuster, Sr. and his wife, Chris Ann. Walter J. Shuster, Ill and his girlfriend, Tracy DeRock and Julius Shuster; two daughters, Amy Smith and her husband, Joseph and Ashley Nelson; her beloved grandchildren; James R.

Shuster, Jr. and his wife, Amber, Jessalyn M. Shuster, Kristen M. Shuster. Darnell M.

Smith, Jordan Smith, Aaliyah Smith, Alexander Joseph "A.J" Shuster and Chelsea; one greatgranddaughter, Callianne Shuster, three brothers, William, Wilbur and Clarence O'Dell and his wife, Gloria, and one sister, Erna Stecher: She was predeceased by one sister. Virginia Partivich and one brother. Richard O'Dell. A Memorial Mass for both Florence and Walter Shuster will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 1 p.m. at St.

Rose M. Barrack BEACON Rose M. Barrack. a longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest, Saturday, September 29,2007 at Elant at Fishkill. She was 93.

Daughter of the late Angelo and Felicia Marie Carlantone Tomaselli, she was born February 17, 1914 in New York City. She married William C. Barrack; he preceded her in death on January 22, 1949. She retired from IBM. East Fishkill as an Administrative Specialist in 1979.

Prior to working at IBM, together with her husband she operated Empire Lumber in Beacon. Rose was a parishioner of St. Joachim St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. She was a former member of the Junior League, Southern Dutchess County Club Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Liberatta.

Survivors include her children, Charles W. Barrack Ocala, Florida, Rosalie F. Barrack of Fort Myers, Florida and William J. Barrack of Beacon; seven grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, October 1, 2007 from 4 to 8 pm at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

Marvin Duane Shaw, POUGHKEEP. SIE Eleanor T. Boyd, 94, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Mrs. Boyd was a marker for Montgomery Wards in Poughkeepsie for over 11 years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post of Poughkeepsie; Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Florentine Council; Catholic Daughter's Irenita 69; and a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie. Born May 31, 1913 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Charles H.

and Kathryn Zeph. She was edu cated in Poughkeepsie schools. On Jan. 1, 1931 in Nativity Church, Poughkeepsie, she married Edward Weber: Mr. Weber died Jan.

20, 1972. On Dec. 23. 1972 in St. Mary's Church, she married Thomas Boyd Mr.

Boyd died Jan. 23, 1987. Survivors include her daughter. Catherine J. Delcotto and her husband, Orlando of Wappingers Falls, her son.

of Seymour, TN, and previous long time Hopewell Jct. resident passed peacefully at home on Sept 29, 2007 after a heartfelt battle with cancer. Born in Afton, NY Nov. 8, 1940, she was the daughter of Edwin and Hazel Shackelton. She married Oscar Geer Oct.

25, 1959. He survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joseph Geer, Chesire, CT. Rose Baxter and her husband, Walter, Seymour, TN; One brother, Edwin Shackelton and wife, Margo, Poughkeepsie, NY, One sister. Duane was born in Beaumont, Texas on Dec. 2, 1952 to Joann Marvis Partin and Cecil Ordell Shaw.

From 1982-1986 he served in the U.S. Navy as a sonar technician, as well as the ship's French interpreter on the U.S. Naval Destroyer USS Dahlgren. Duane earned his Bachelor of Art's degree in 1991 with a double major of History a and Political Science at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

In 1996, he graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas with his Doctor of Doctor J.D. Duane was subsequently admitted to the Federal Courts of Texas Eastern District Court, Texas Northern Bankruptcy Court, and Texas Northern District Court. Duane leaves behind his three young children, whom he adored: JoAnna Frances Shaw, Marvin Duane "Docky" Shaw. and John Michael Shaw, and his former wife of 20 years, Patricia De Witt Shaw, all of Hopewell Junction.

New York. He also leaves behind his mother, Joann Conger husband Ralph, his sister Celia Shaw-Alvarez husband Ricky. his brother Carlton Lee Shaw his wife Cheryl, all of Lufkin, Texas. In addition, Duane leaves behind his very supportive and caring extended family of New York, Curtis Ruby his wife, Geri De Witt Ruby of Hopewell Junction, New York and their daughters, Kristen Nicole Ruby (his Goddaughter), and Jennifer Lynn Ruby, of Ithaca, New York. Duane's parents-in-law, John Patrick DeWitt Frances Ann De Witt predeceased him.

Also, remaining are his sisterin-law(s), Joan De Witt Taskowitz, Frances De Witt Fabian, Linda De Witt Palumbo and their families, and brother-in-law Robert DeWitt and his family, all of New Jersey. Remaining are 20 nieces and nephews in New York New Jersey. Services were held in Lufkin, Texas on Sunday, September 23, 2007 with burial at Sunset Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas on Monday, September 24, 2007. More obituaries 5B Ex-NBC exec dies at age 75 SEATTLE Ray Timothy, a veteran NBC executive, has died after a battle with multiple myeloma, according to NBC Universal.

He was 75. The native New Yorker was group executive vice president of NBC when he retired in 1988, and he played an instrumental role in the network's growth over three decades, the network said Friday, a day after Timothy's death in Seattle. After his retirement from NBC, Timothy worked for a financial advisory firm and started a company that offered media advice to Wall Street: The Associated Press.
