A retired gardener, he had lived in Beacon for 61 years. Mr. Grippo was born in Venosa, Italy, on Feb. 19, 1872, son the late Mr. and Mrs.

Vincent Grippo. His wife, the former Miss Vita Astone, died on Aug. 24, 1961. He had been a communicant of St. John's church, Beacon, and a member of the St.

Rocco society. SURVIVORS INCLUDE three daughters, Mrs. Louis Colacine and Mrs. Benjamin DeLuca, Peekskill, and Mrs. Victor Fredericks, Beacon; four sons, Benjamin and Michael Grippo, Beacon; James Grippo, Miami Beach, and Jan Grippo, Los Angeles, grandchildren and seven great He was predeceased by daughter, Mrs.

Louise DeFelice, and a son, Alex Grippo. The funeral will be conducted from the John J. Halvey Funeral home, 24 Willow street, Beacon, Monday at 9:15 a.m. with a Solemn High Mass of Requiem to be celebrated at St. John's church, Beacon, at 10 a.

Mr. Southworth, Was Railroadman Southworth, 78, a reChester, of the New York Central railroad, died Wednesday night at the home of his son, Kenneth Southworth, 269 Manchester road, after a brief illness. Mr. Southworth had lived in Highland for 45 years. Born in Oneonta on July 5, 1883, he was the daughter Mr.

and Mrs. Emory Southworth. SURVIVORS include four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bolde; Kingston, and Mrs. Emily Anderson, Mrs.

Jennie Wood and Mrs. Alice Judge, Highland; three sons, James and Chester Southworth Highland, and Kenneth Southworth, city, and several grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Monday' at 2 p.m. at the Sutton Funeral home, Crescent avenue, Clintondale, with the Rev. William E.

Worley, of the Highland Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Lloyd cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow night, 7 to. 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Evelyn Churchill of Hughsonville is a patient at Vassar hospital.

Children's' day will be celebrated tomorrow at the Hughsonville Presbyterian church at the servbeginning at 10:45 a. m. There will be no Sunday school this Sunday or throughout the summer. The church services in July will begin at 9:30 a. m.

The Rev. William H. Austin, pastor of the New Hamburg Methodist church, has made known that the sermon tomorrow will be, "'The Church and Its Mission." The worship service will be at 9:30 a. m. when the reception of members will be conducted.

Driver Faces. Misconduct Charge- Ronald C. Signor, 21, of 60. Carroll street, was arrested by Town Patrolman Luty in the South road last night and disorderly conduct, according. to Police Captain Dakin.

"Signor was stopped by the patrolman, who noticed there was only one headlight working on the car," Captain Dakin' said. HE NOTED that Patrolman Luty ticketed Signor on charges of. having insufficient lights and an inadequate muffler. Luty added a disorderly conduct charge, Captain Dakin said, when Signor protested the patrolman's actions. Signor appeared before Justice of the Peace Holden last night and was released in $25 bond, pending a an appearance Monday at 7 p.m.

Police Recover 12 Stolen Cars Two cars, reported stolen in the Town of Poughkeepsie last night, were later recovered by police agencies. Town Police Captain Dakin said Harold V. White, 14 Old Farms road, reported his car was missing from the parking lot at the main IBM plant. The car was found this morning by City Patrolman Bailey, parked in the municipal parking lot in Washington street. Raymond Herberchter, Fishkill, reported his car.

Joel, public relations consultant, Palsy will adult receive the achievement first award at the state conference dinner of United Cerebral Palsy association of New York State tonight at U. S. Hotel Thayer, West Point. The award will be given annually to a cerebral palsied individual, age 16 or over, who has been an inspiration to others, enand furthered the ideals United couraged services in a 2 community Cerebral Palsy. Mr.

Joel; who lives in Rye, was guest speaker at the December meeting of the Cerebral Palsy PTA in the Unitarian Fellowship building here. He spoke informally on the problems of the cerebral palsied and their parents. Mr. Joel has been a leader in many civic activities in Westchester. He is vice president of the Pioneer club, an adult C.

P. group, and has been for eight years a volunteer assistant teacher and parent counsellor the Cerebral Palsy clinic in Bedford. In 1961 he received the B'nai B'rith merit award for his articles on discrimination in public housing. 1962 NEA, T.M, Reg. U.S.

Louis Trautwein, 60, owner of Louis' tavern at 215 New Hackensack road, Town of Poughkeepsie, died yesterday at Vassar hospital. He had been ill some time and a hospital patient since May 29.

Mr. who resided at 217 New Hackensack road, had been active in local fraternal ganizations. Born in Wolfschlugen, Germany, on April 3, 1902, he was educated in that city. His parents were late Fritz and Marie Stoll Trautwein. He came to this country 1923, living in this city for the next 23 years.

In 1946, he moved to his New Hackensack road home and opened Louis' tavern. WHILE LIVING in the city, had owned and operated the Ger. man tavern, Washington street, During his first 10 years in this country here employed Germania. married to was former Miss Marie Kaiser, who survives, on May 8, 1925, in First Lutheran church here. Mr.

Trautwein had -been member of Wappingers lodge, Free and Accepted Masons; TriGrotto; Poughkeepsie chapter, Royal no Arch Masons; Poughkeepsie lodge, Benevolent land Protective Order of Elks; Red Oaks Mill Company, New Hebrides lodge; There and First Lutheran church. York State Liquor Dealers' association, he also was an honorary member of Germania and its Singing society and Soccer club and of the Town of Poughkeepsie Patrolmen's Benevolent association.
