Visitation will be held 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart with a service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart.

CAROL CHRISTENSEN Stuart (formerly of Menlo) Larry Patterson, 81, of Mesa, AZ, and formerly of Collins and Pleasant Hill, Iowa, died January 27, 2015, in Mesa. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with burial to follow in Collins Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Born May 15, 1933, in Collins, Iowa, Larry Lee Patterson was the son of John Walter and Velma (Jones) Patterson.

He grew up and received his education in Collins, graduating from Collins High School in 1951. Larry served in the United States Army during the Korean from 1952-54, then returned to Iowa where he was employed for over 30 years at Armstrong Tire Company in Des Moines. Larry was united in marriage to Beverly Cable on July 29, 1956, in Des Moines. The couple settled in Pleasant Hill, where they raised their family of four sons: Ronald, Clifford, Marvin, and Larry. Larry enjoyed golfing, square dancing, and visiting with friends.

He and Beverly wintered in Mesa for several years before moving there permanently in 2003. Survivors include four sons, Ronald Patterson of Des Moines, Clifford Patterson of West Des Moines, Marvin (Mary) Patterson of Pleasant Hill, and Larry (Don Fleming) Patterson of Pleasant Hill; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Jenny) Patterson of Collins; a half-sister, Pattie Lundquist of Omaha, NE; and other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008; his parents; and a brother, Merle Patterson. Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Larry and his family. LARRY PATTERSON Mesa, AZ, formerly of Collins Pleasant Hill Kathy Miller, 84, of Urbandale passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

Kathy is survived by her children; Phil, Jim, Bob, Rich, Rose, and Sally. Services are being planned for a later date. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.caldwell- parrish.com KATHY MILLER Urbandale Virginia Ann Boothroy, 92, passed away on April 22, 2015. A longtime resident of Altoona, IA, she resided the last three years at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston, IA. Virginia was born on October 28, 1922 to Howard and Mary Wil son in Colfax, IA.

She was the second of five children in a close-knit family. She attended school in Colfax, graduating in 1940. On June 25, 1944 she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Thomas Boothroy. Together they raised their two sons, Douglas and Dennis, in Mitchellville and Altoona, IA. Virginia taught country school for two years, worked as a Northwestern Bell Telephone operator for one year, and then was a Claim Clerk Supervisor for 29 years at EMC Insurance Co.

After retirement in 1985, she and Bill spent 19 winters in McAllen TX, where they made many friends and happy memories. Ginny was a long time member of Altoona Christian Church and was active in Eastern Star. She and Bill loved to go dancing and play cards. They were members of several bridge groups and enjoyed lively family card games of Pitch. Ginny was a vivacious, outgoing person who always wore a smile and the latest in fashion.

Her unreserved personality enlarged her circle of friends wherever she went. Ginny loved her family, being a homemaker and cooking. She was a master baker who lavished her family with elaborate holiday meals, delicious birthday cakes, unmatched pies and her signature sweet bread, Potica. Ginny created many cherished family memories around the dinner table. Virginia is survived by two sons, Douglas (Bonnie) of Iowa City, IA, and Dennis (Sue) of Parker, CO; four grandchildren, Kaila (John) Kenjar, David (Christine) Boothroy, Chandra Boothroy, and Christopher Boothroy; two great-grandchildren, Connor Hardy and Adela Boothroy; one sister, Agnes Agar; and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Mary Wilson; her husband, William Boothroy; two sisters, Velma Fraker and Ruth Simbro; and one brother, Donald Wilson. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center for the loving care they gave Ginny during her stay. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Altoona Christian Church. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mitchellville Cemetery.

VIRGINIA ANN BOOTHROY Altoona Services for Raymond Dean McElroy, 85, who passed away Thursday morning, April 23, 2015, at the Manning Plaza in Manning, IA, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church with burial following in the Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra, IA. Raymond was born on July 7, 1929, to Ralph and Irene (Halterman) McElroy. He spent his early years growing up on his farm.

They then moved to Carlisle and settled in Indianola, IA. Raymond graduated from Indianola High School. He married the love of his life, Mary Louise Brockway, on August 20, 1950. To their union three daughters and one son were born. Raymond was a body and fender man for Ramsey Pontiac for over 30 years and other smaller automotive shops before his retirement at age 62.

Also during this time, he helped with farming and handling livestock for his father-in-law. Raymond loved being outside and working in his yard and gardens. Feeding and watching the birds became a favorite pastime. He enjoyed wood working and his children and grandchildren have a number of things he has made over the years. Raymond loved to read and in his later years could be caught watching a really television show.

He and Mary Louise were able to travel a lot and were able to visit all 48 contiguous states. He always liked to share stories from those trips. Raymond also really enjoyed family gatherings. He was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church for over 40 years. Raymond is survived by his children; Mary Rae McElroy of Des Moines, Sheryl (Rick) Dammann of Manning, Joyce (Michael) Massey of Manning and Larry (Lisa Bubon) McElroy of Central Islip, NY; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law; Dianna McElroy; three nephews; one niece; and one cousin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise, his parents, brother, Edwin, and baby sister, Joilynn. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 27 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. RAYMOND MCELROY Indianola Barbara Crawford, 92, passed away at home on April 23, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 27 at West Des Moines United Methodist Church. Luncheon and visitation will precede the service, starting at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn.

Following marriage they lived on a farm at rural Adel, Eugene passed away on December 19, 1962. The family moved to Minburn in 1965. After retiring, Barbara moved to West Des Moines in 1987. Barbara is survived by her children Fred (Connie) of Waukee, David (Brenda) of Beloit, KS, Carmen of Johnston, and Kathy of Des Moines; grandchildren Kristi and son Broxtyn of Kansas City, MO, Ryan (Tyler) of Hinsdale, IL, Blaine (Brittnee) of Flushing, NY, and Kelsey of Lawrence, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to Wesley Woods Church Camp of Indianola or Unity Point Hospice of Des Moines.

Lyle was a truck driver for Super Value for 22 years. He had many hobbies such as woodworking, collecting, feeding deer, and watching NASCAR. Above all, greatest passion in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol; sons, Lyle (Chris) Ellenwood, Jr. and Kevin (Helen) Ellenwood; grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Kane, and Kaci Ellenwood, Ashley Bateman, and Spencer and Brook Croat; great-grandchild, Ivy Wells; mother, Fayrene Ellenwood; sister, Sondra Ridley; and aunt, Hazel Young.

He was born on April 6, 1965 in Des Moines to Arthur and Linda (Romine) Greco.

LANCE GRECO Des Moines Zachary John Meacham, 16, son of John Bridget (Petersen) Meacham II, was born July 28, 1998 in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 near Guthrie Center, Iowa. Ansgar, Iowa- Leona Wenger, 94, of St. Ansgar, died on April 24, 2015 at Stacyville Communtiy Nursing Home, Stacyville, Iowa. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Schroeder Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Gary Gonnerman Burial will be in the St.

Ansgar Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Schroeder Sites Funeral Home. Leona was born April 14, 1921 in Dallas County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Britton) Bever. She graduated from high school in Dallas Center, Iowa. She met Kerman C.

Wenger in church and they were married on February 7, 1941 and celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary this year. They made their home in St. Ansgar following retirement from farming. Leona was a mother to a son, Clifford N. Wenger and a daughter, Dixie Fox.

Leona was a homemaker, who enjoyed feeding the birds and cutting quilt squares for missions. She collected buttons for many years. She was a member of the St. Ansgar Baptist Church and loved the Lord as her personal Savior and Redeemer. She was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn, Beulah, Esther and brother Bud.

Leona is survived by her husband Kerman; son, Clifford (Mary); daughter, Dixie Fox (Ed); grandchildren, Lonnie Fox (Shelly), Vicki Noordhoek (Jonathon), Corey Fox, Angela Schubert (Dan) and Andy Wenger (Melissa). Also surviving are great grandchildren Jason and Tessa Schubert, Anthony Wenger (Samatha) and one great- great granddaughter, Madison Wenger. www.schroederandsites.com LEONA WENGER St. Ansgar Ronald Tesdall, 65, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Hospital after a sudden heart attack. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. Visitation will be held from 6 8 p.m. on Monday at the church.

Ronald Wayne Tesdall was born on January 28, 1950, in Boone, Iowa, to DeWayne and Debra (Anderson) Tesdall. He grew up in Ames and graduated in the class of 1968. Following graduation, Ron continued his education and earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Iowa. Ron made a career as a Master Electrician and owned and operated Story Electric Contractors until his retirement.

He also proudly served as past chairman of the Ames Electrical Board. Ron was an outdoorsman who liked hunting, and gardening, growing many tomatoes. He was also an avid fan of Iowa Hawkeye football and the TV show Pawn Stars. He also enjoyed his cats, weather watching, home improvement projects, and was a connoisseur of craft beverages. Most of all, Ron loved spending time with his entire family who all held a special place in his heart.

Survivors include the love of his life, Lana Ohlsen, and her daughter, Katie Avise and grandson, Dylan; children, Ryan (Jessica) Tesdall Dawn (Matt) Hemesath, and Erik (Michelle) Tesdall; father, DeWayne Tesdall; grandchildren, Jackson, Nicholas, Camden, and Alessandra; and siblings, Valerie McClimon, Doran Tesdall, Colin Tesdall, and Joel Tesdall. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Tesdall; uncles, Monte, Paul, and Larry Anderson; and grandparents, Lawrence and Rose Tesdall, Carl and Gladys Morrison, and William and Ruby Anderson Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
