"It's something we talk about," Donovan said. "I think people are looking for a legislative change." Other states have enacted laws to address drugged driving. In May, Colorado signed into law a recreational marijuana bill that set the blood limit for driving while under the influence of marijuana at 5 nanograms per milliter. In Utah, a person is considered under the influence of any drug if it renders the person incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle or if the operator has any measurable controlled substance in their blood. News in Brief Four injured in NH boat crash GILFORD, N.H.

Police said four people have been injured in a crash between two boats on Lake Winnipe-saukee in the New Hampshire town of Gilford. Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash Friday night. Authorities say 50-year-old Barry K. Myers of Dracut, has been charged with boating while intoxicated. Four people were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from a fractured arm to possible internal injuries.

Both boats were severely damaged in the collision. Rivals in Senate race make push DARTMOUTH, Mass. Democratic U.S. Rep. Edward Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez kept up a busy schedule in the final weekend before the Tuesday special election for the U.S.

Senate, with both campaigns trying some exposed power lines at a private residence. Police say Miles was taken by ambulance to the Houlton Regional Hospital. Police say it appeared that he had died from coming into contact with the power lines. Logging village gets historical marker CARROLL, N.H A New Hampshire Historical Highway marker has been installed on Route 302 in Carroll to commemorate the 19th-century logging village of Zealand. The marker also honors Zealand's founder, James Everell Henry.

It says the village grew in 1875 to serve the logging industry and that Henry owned 10,000 acres in the heart of the White Mountains, with a 10-mile railroad to move logs from forest to sawmill. The village had a post office, school, store, housing and charcoal kilns "to eke out every bit of forest value," the marker says. The logging season employed anywhere from 80 to 250 to energize their base and mobilize for a get-out-the-vote effort amid projections of a light turnout. Markey, a member of Congress since 1976 and Gomez, a former Navy SEAL and political newcomer, are vying for the seat formerly held by John Kerry, who resigned from the Senate earlier this year to become U.S. Secretary of State.

Markey capped a day of campaigning on Saturday with a rally on the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth campus with Vice President Joe Biden, who was the latest in a string of Democratic heavy-hitters who have made campaign visits in recent weeks, following President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton. Speaking to several hundred Markey backers, Biden repeatedly said Republicans in Washington "don't get it," and mocked Gomez's claim that he would represent a new kind of Republican. "This is not your father's Republican party. This is not even Mitt Romney's Republican party," said Biden. "This is a different breed of cat.

They think compromise is a dirty word. These guys aren't just conservative, they are anti-government." Gomez had more than two dozen campaign stops planned over the next three days in what he has dubbed his "people over politics" tour. He began his day by running in a road race in Newton and planned more stops Saturday, hoping to sway independent voters his way. He acknowledged his underdog status but said his field effort for Tuesday's election was in "phenomenal shape." Utility worker dies of electrocution NEW LIMERICK, Maine Maine State Police say a utility worker has died after apparently being electrocuted by exposed power lines in New Limerick. Police say 44-year-old Mark Miles, an employee of Eastern Maine Electric, had been called to a power outage on Friday.

Stump grinder accident kills worker PORTSMOUTH, N.H. Officials are investigating a fatal accident involving a stump grinder that killed a tree service worker in Portsmouth.

Police say 43-year-old Matthew Morasse of Rochester was killed on the job on Thursday. The Portsmouth Herald reports that Morasse was an employee of Urban Tree Service of Rochester and was working alone at the time. Urban Tree Service President Ed Hopkins says it was a tragic accident and the company is trying to understand how to cope with it. He says the company has lost a valuable member of its team.
