Parrett, Roseanne Scotch Plains; Gray Funeral Home Powell, Dorothy Formerly of Elizabeth; Judkins Colonial Home Raymond Joseph Collins, born February 28, 1938, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the age of 76. Visitation will be at the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 Route 206, on Wednesday the 20th from 4 to 7 PM followed by a Memorial Service at the funeral home. Raymond was a 42 year resident of Hillsborough and is survived by his wife of 52 years Sandra, son Raymond, both of Hillsborough, son Douglas and grandchildren Abby and Alex, all of Fair- fax, Virginia. He is also survived by his brother John Collins and sisters Marguerite Placek and Mary Hetnar.

Raymond is the son of Joseph and Elizabeth of Ridge- Park, New Jersey, both now deceased. Ray grew up in Park, attended Park High school and served in the Ridge- Park Fire Department. He served two years in the United States Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was honorably discharged in 1958. Raymond worked 31 years for the city of New York as an operating engineer and member of Local 15 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed being with family, watching the Yankees, reading a good book on his patio and customizing his truck.

He was a good friend, lovin father, devoted husband and loved to strike up conversations with anyone he ran across. He will be missed and is now at peace. RAYMOND JOSEPH COLLINS AGE: 76 HILLSBOROUGH Roseanne Yeager Parrett, 91, of Scotch Plains, beloved mother of Robert R. Parrett, passed away at her home, on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Service of Remembrance will be Thursday August 28, 2014, at the Fanwood Presbyterian Church, where the interment will follow in the church memorial garden.

An avid golfer, she played for more than 50 years. Roseanne also enjoyed bowling, and was an avid New York Mets fan. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert M.

Parrett, her brother John Yeager and his wife Patricia, she is survived by her son Robert R. Parrett, her beloved daughter-in-law: Theresa, four grandchildren: Jeffrey, Becky, Joshua, Charles, nephew: Walter Yeager and wife Laura, niece: Enid Killey and husband Tommy, and their children, niece: Vicki Patton, and husband Jon and their children, and her brother- in-law: Channing Parrett. Ms. Powell was a member of Miracle Baptist Church. She was employed as the Lead Operator for Captive Plastic, 22yrs employed at Standard Plastics as an assembler, 10 yrs. Ms. Powell loved cooking gardening.

Predeceased by husband George Sr; son Jerry; daughter Annette Powell; brothers Artis, Prentice, Wesley Lee, John Wesley, Wess Charles Joseph Bass. Survivin are sons Ronald, James George Powell brothers Willie C. Richard Bass; sisters Annie Shell, Carrie Butler Rose Harvey; 2 grandsons 5 great grandchildren. Arrangements by www.JudkinsColonial- Home. DOROTHY B. POWELL AGE: 77 FORMERLY OF ELIZABETH Robert J. Goldsack, 82, of Nashua, passed away Wednesday morning, August 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

Born and raised in eld, New Jersey, he was the son of Robert and Marguerite Goldsack. He graduated from High School where his fellow students elected him President of his 1949 Senior Class. A graduate of Seton Hall University, Mr. Goldsack started as a copy boy and worked his way up to advertising director of the Courier News, a one time 60,000 circulation daily Gannett newspaper in eld-Bridgewater, New Jersey. While employed at The Courier- News, Bob graduated from the Newspaper Advertising Executives Management course at Columbia University in New York City and served as Chairman of the New Jersey Press Association in 1971.

He was also very active in the Retail Trades Division of the eld Area Chamber of Commerce, the National Retailers Association and eld Jaycees. From 1962 through 1969, he and a partner owned the New Jersey Red Oaks, a very successful on the and at the ticket Semi Pro football team. After 25 years with the Courier-News, Bob oined the Corporate Staff of the Thomson Newspaper chain as a consultant to the many daily newspapers owned by that corpora- tion throughout the United States. He and his family moved to Nashua in 1978. Mr.

Goldsack accepted a position as Regional Manager of Metro Creative Graphics, a company that furnishes art work and advertising ideas to newspapers throughout the country. His territory consisted of all six New England States, New York and New Jersey. During the Korean War, he served aboard aircraft carriers during a four year Navy hitch. He was awarded the United States Korean Service Medal, United Nations Korean Medal, American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the South Korean Com- merative Medal. Following the Korean War, he was involved in supplying aircraft to the French in French Indo China, which later became Vietnam.

In 1953, Bob married the love of his life, Joan Stevens, a classmate from grammar and high school, who passed away in January 2008, after 54 years of marriage. They were the parents of nine children. In Nashua, Mr. Goldsack has served as a substitute teacher in the middle and high schools for 16 years. He served several terms as a director of the Nashua Historical Society and as assistant treasurer of that organization.

He was a parishioner of the Parish of the Resurrection for the past 36 years. A lifetime historian and writer documenting the outdoor entertainment business, his rst book The World of Mirth was published in 1984. Fourteen more books followed that including Remembering Wild Animal Farm; A History of New England Amusement Parks; Those Big and Colorful Railroad Carnivals; A History of the Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers Circus; and Behind the Scenes at the Eastern States Exposition The Big E. In 2010, he produced an updated book on Wild Animal Farm for Arcadia Publishing. Mr.

Goldsack also published his own quarterly magazine Journal from 1996 through 2000, and was then hired by the Circus Fans of America to serve as editor and publisher of The White Tops, the bimonthly magazine. He retired from that position in 2006. For vestraight years he was commissioned to write a two page historical story for the Outdoor Amusement Business yearbook and was often hired to write articles for various publications. He also worked as a consultant for many show business projects and gave talks throughout the country, regarding the subjects of his books and the outdoor entertainment industry in general. He also presented several courses at Rivier College for the RISE Program.

His memberships in amusement organizations included the Outdoor Amusement Business Association; Club of Gibsonton, FL; Club of Sarasota, FL; Circus Model Builders Society; Carnival Historical Society; Ca- roussel Historical Society; and was very active in raising funds to build and open the Museum in Gibsonton, FL. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Korean War Veterans Association. An avid traveler, Bob and his wife toured Europe three times, steamboated several times on the Mississippi (1990) and Ohio (1993) Rivers and spent time in every state except North Dakota. Robert was predeceased by his wife Joan and son Garrett. Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, NH on Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funera Mass in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St, Nashua at 11 Military Honors and Interment will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 1 p.m. Friends are invited to attend.
