Cosner was born in Lake County, TN. to the late John Leslie Cosner and Mary Bird Cosner. A graduate of Lambuth College and Vanderbilt University serving as Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review in 1949. A retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S.

Army Reserve. He served with the Combat Engineers in the European Theatre during World War I1. He was engaged in the private practice of law in Nashville and previously served as an Instructor in the Bankruptcy Law in the Nashville School of Law. A Charter Member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church and was a long time Teacher and Member of The John Wesley Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday at Belle Meade United Methodist Church.

The body will lie in state from 6-8 p.m., Monday at the Church. Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the John Wesley Class and Charter Members of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. He was 94. He was preceded in death by his wife of 1 57 years, Dorothy Mae Robinson. He practiced ophthalmology in Providence, R.I., where he was Chief of Ophthalmology at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket, R.I. and Miriam Hospital, Providence, R.I. Dr.

Robinson also served thirty years in the U.S. Navy retiring with the rank of Captain. He was born in Providence, R.I. May 21, 1904. He received a B.S.

Degree from Tufts College in 1928 and a M.D. Degree from Tufts College Medical School in 1931. Dr. Robinson completed his ophthalmology residence at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and was a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr.

Robinson was a Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Americal Medical Association and the Rhode Island Medical Society. Dr. Robinson is survived by his son, Dr. Nathaniel D. Robinson M.D.

and wife Joanne of Brentwood, Tennessee; grandchildren, Donelle and Nathaniel D. OBIT LINE, 859-0300 McGugin, kin of ex-governor, dies of cancer Suzanne Rye McGugin, granddaughter of former Tennessee governor Tom Rye and a former correspondent for The Tennessean's society department, died of cancer Saturday at Richland Health Care. Mrs. McGugin, 76, was the sister of retired Tennessean food editor Betty Caldwell and was the widow of the late Leonard McGugin, son of legendary Vanderbilt football coach Dan McGugin. Other survivors include a daughter, Virginia McGugin Hatch, Nashville; a son, Leonard Fite McGugin Sugar Land, Texas; a twin sister, Margaret Steele of Nashville; and six grandchildren.

A graduate of Ward-Belmont High School, Mrs. McGugin lived in Naples, from 1971 until her husband's death in 1992. She then returned to Nashville. Visitation with the family will be 4-6 p.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
