(AP) One man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, and a second went on trial yesterday for tossing a large rock from an interstate overpass, shattering a car window and nearly killing a Kentucky woman.

Brad McCann, 19, of Prattville, went on trial in Autauga County, Circuit Court, the last of four defendants to be prosecuted in the case. The other three, all of whom pleaded guilty, agreed to testify against McCann. Jurors were deliberating last night in McCann's case. On Monday, Circuit Judge Ben Fuller sentenced Brian Calhoun, 23, to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to assault and two counts Jam's record of 950,378 for CD sales in a single day set in 1993 with Vs. He says the promotion makes sense because 20 of his over 82 million in sales have been through Wal-Marts.

Evans served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 87th Chemical Mortar Battalion during World War II, and honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He was a graduate from Central High School, Nashville, State Teachers College Vanderbilt University. He was a member of the Vanderbilt University Quing Club. He founded Evans Glass Company in 1956, was a charter member of Melrose Civitan Club, and was a member of the Couples Class at Belmont United Methodist Church.
