Sr. and Novella Cooksey Harlan. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Hackett Harlan, whom he married in 1952; daughter, Glenda (Bob) Redd of Mt. Juliet; son, Mike Harlan of Hermitage; grandson, Jason Redd. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Jr.

and Sam Harlan; two sisters, Elizabeth Poston and Montie Harlan. Mr. Harlan was a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ at Tuckers Cross Roads. He served as a member of the Wilson County Quarterly Court for eighteen years and was active in civic organizations. He was a farmer and livestock dealer.

He and his wife owned and operated Harlan's Grocery for thirty one years. His remains rest at the Ligon Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon. Funeral services are Tuesday, November 18, 1997, at 2 p.m. from the Bethlehem Church of Christ wit Bro. Kenneth Head, Bro.
