Council Won't Oppose Cancelling of Train Believe It or rentie.it sent with damped aftdreaud envelope Rjpfc, wITT RTPT.T3Y doptcted by him) PAGE proof. annul its now in op- one train The Mercer borough council tabled a request of several towns along the Bessemer to oppose the petition of the Bessemer to only passenger service oration over the road, each way daily.

The council lakes the ground that as there is practically no passenger traffic out of Mercer over tho road, it would not bo justified in opposing the removal of the train. It is a matter of fact, however, that it is valuable to Mercer as a mail train, carrying a mail south in the morning anil one north in (he evening. The other mails all go overland, the same as in the horse and buggy days. Frcdonia is the community most vitally affected by the proposed annulling the train service, as it would leave them without any transportation or mail service there is no bus service in town.
