Rev. Kerr and wife have gone for-a two weeks' visit with their children at Terre Haute and Hymera. James Leachman, who has been a resident of this vicinity for years, passed to his long sleep this afternoon, February 8, 1909, at his home one and one-half miles southeast of Center Point. Mr. Leachman has been a very exemplary man, a good citizen and neighbor.

He leaves a wife and five children, Mrs. Ida Fer- rill of Center Point, Mr. Oscar Leach man of Brazil, Mrs. Emma Brewer of Wichataw, and Mrs. Mathew Beris of Terre Haute, and Mrs.

Halstead Asks $1,000 Damages for Thirty Acres of Hay Destroyed by Fire Last September. Two damage suits were filed in the Circuit court this morning by G. S. Payne, attorney for the plaintiffs in the cases. The first case was that of Sarah J.
