Carolyn Sawyer- October 15, 1988. Mrs. Walker died in her sleep early Saturday morning in Charlotte, N.C. She was a native of Nashville. The Former Ruth Carolyn Sawyer.

Daughter of the late Edward Mitchell and Ruth Cato Pearre Sawyer. She was married in 1936 to Ralph Thomas Walker who died in 1967. Mrs. Walker was educated in the Davidson County Schools and Peabody College. She spent most of her life teaching in Davidson County and Metro Nashville.

She taught First Grade at Ransom, Dupont, Woodmont and Julia Green Schools retiring in 1968. She was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church, Local, State and National Teachers Associations, Metro Retired Teachers, Cheekwood and Senior Citizens. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Her remains are at Roesch Patton Broadway Chapel where visitation will be Sunday from 7-9 and Monday from 1-3. Funeral services will be at Broadway Chapel at 3:00 Monday, October 17th.
