FRANKIEA.MITCHEM Wife of Richard Eltinge Putscher of Newark, DE, went home to the Lord on Sunday June 15, 2015. Born June 19, 1931 to the Rev. William C. Howard and Dorothea Badgley Howard in Koonsville, PA, Dot spent her childhood in Vineland, Somers Point and Browns Mills, NJ to which her ministry took the family. Dot graduated from Pemberton (NJ) High School in 1947, and then graduated from Trenton State Teachers College (NJ) in 1951.

Dot put her degree to work teaching Physical Education and Health at Verona High School (NJ) for two years, enjoying summers working as a counselor at Camp Wenonah on Trickey Pond outside Naples, Maine. Dot and Dick married in Medford, NJ in 1953, and the couple settled in Wilmington, DE. While Dick worked for DuPont as a chemical information specialist, Dot in at various schools around the Wilmington area as a part time teacher, coach, and basketball cial. Dot and Dick joined the Concord (DE) Presbyterian Church, and immediately started what would become a large and loving family. In 1959, Dot and Dick moved their young family to Waynesboro, VA following transfer by DuPont.

In Waynesboro, Dot and Dick became active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, and oversaw the custom architectural design and construction of a new family home in Club Court above the banks of the South River. Dot became a full-time mother, as the family continued to grow to ultimately include three girls and three boys. As the family matured, Dot returned to teaching Physical Education, Health, and Biology at Kate Collins Junior High School in Waynesboro. In 1976, Dick was transferred back to Wilmington, DE by DuPont, and the family settled just outside Newark, DE, where Dot and Dick have resided for the past thirty-nine years. During that time, they served as active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Newark.

As her children graduated from high school, went to college, and ultimately moved on to adulthood, Dot blossomed as an artist and craftswoman, and eventually became the proud and delighted grandmother of two girls and two boys. In retirement, Dot and Dick established a three-season vacation cottage on Sebago Lake in Maine, just a short drive from where Dot had spent such memorable summers as a camp counselor. Here, Dot and Dick became summer members of the Raymond Village (ME) Community Church, and hosted numerous joyous gatherings of family and friends. Dot is survived by her husband Dick, six children and their spouses (Laurie Putscher of Annapolis, MD; Andrea Putscher and Dean Westman of Fairfax, VA; David and Jane Zippe Putscher of Wilmington, DE; Stephen and Teresa Marie Jarboe Putscher of Annapolis, MD; Jennifer Putscher and Bruce Wilson of San Jose, CA; and Carl Putscher and May-Hung Chan of Burlington, VT), four grandchildren (Caroline Putscher, 2015 graduate of Ursinus College; Emily Putscher, 2015 graduate of Barnard College; Caiden Putscher- Wilson, 2015 graduate of Sta.
