Dunn, a Jeffersontown chiropractor for 40 years, died of cancer Friday at Meace Hospital in Clearwater, Fla. He was 65. Dunn worked with athletic programs at Flaget, St. Xavier, Eastern, Shawnee and Atherton high schools. He treated well-known athletes, including basketball players Lou Tsioropoulos and Charlie Tyra and football star Paul Hornung.

Dunn, a fourth-generation chiropractor, began his practice working in his father's clinic at 32nd Street and Broadway. In 1950, he established his own practice in Jeffersontown, where he operated a clinic from his four-room apartment. He later moved to Taylorsville Road. He retired in 1990. Visitation will be at Ratterman's-Bards-town Road, 3800 Bardstown Road, from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The family asks that memorial gifts go to Kentuckiana Children's Center. Woman kills man she says raped her The Southern Kentucky Bureau ARJAY, Ky.

A 33-year-old Bell County man was shot to death yesterday by a woman who said he had repeatedly raped her just before the Shooting, police said. George Steven Rhodes, of Arjay, was shot twice in the chest in the woman's Arjay home at about 6:10 a.m., said Ted Mays, a dispatcher for the Bell County Sheriff's Department. "She claimed that he had raped her for about four hours," Mays said. The woman also told police that she got away from Rhodes at one point, ran into a different part of the house and got the gun. When he pursued her, the woman said, she shot Rhodes twice in the chest.

Rhodes walked about 300 feet to another home, where he died in a front-porch swing, Mays said. State police said Rhodes' body was sent to Lexington yesterday for an autopsy. Mays said the woman, whose name was not released yesterday, was being treated at an area hospital for unknown reasons. No charges had been filed yesterday. State police said they will continue investigating the shooting along with the Bell sheriffs office.
