Founder of Emmanuel Movement Dies Today KENNEBUNKPORT, The Rev. Dr. Elwood Worcester, 78,. retired rector of Emmanuel (Episcopal 1 church of Boston and founder of the Emmanuel movement a quarlcr-cemitry ago, died today after a brief illness. A native of Massillon, he graduated from Columbia and the General Theological Seminary and studied Geimany.

He was ordained in 1ROO and became chaplain and professor of philosophy and psychology at Lehigh university. 1896 he became rector of St Stephen's church, Philadelphia. In 190-3 he went to the Boston chuich where he served 25 years. Dr. Worcester established the Emmanuel movement, widely discussed because of its reportcc cures ot mental and spiritual sickness.
