Born in 1911, she was the daughter of the late William Wesley Dillon and Susie Orr Wright Dillon. She was preceded in death by her brother, William 1 Wesley Dillon sisters, Harriet Dillon Horkins, Roberta Dillon 1 Lyne. Ms. Dillon attended Ward Belmont High School and graduated from Vanderbilt University Magna Cum Laude. She held a Masters of Science from Columbia University.

Ms. Dillon had served as the Director of Statistical Services for the Tennessee Department of Public Health from 1953-1968. From 1969-1974, she served on the staff of the Pan American Health Organization in Washington, DC as a statistician for infant mortality research projects and health care statistics. Ms. Dillon was also well known as a teacher, having taught Preventative Medicine and Public Health Statistics at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine, George Peabody School for Teachers and Meharry Medical College School of Nursing.

She was listed in the 1965 'Who's Who of American Women' and served as joint author of numerous articles published in the American Journal of Public Health, the American Review of Tuberculosis and Public Health Reports. Her professional memberships included: The American Public Health Association, The American Statistical Association, the American Association for Vital Records and Public Health Statistics, and the Tennessee Public Health Association. Ms. DilIon was an active member of West End United Methodist Church serving on the Administration Board and the Wedding Committee. She enjoyed and was a member of Cheekwood, Blair School of Music, Nashville Opera Association and the Symphony.

Ms. Dillon was a member of the Junior League and the Centennial Club where she was currently serving as a Director on its Board. Ann Dillon's family was of the utmost importance to her. She is survived by Caroline Lyne (Allen) Oliver, Dallas. TX.

Joyner was interested in the economics of single mothers and helping them get ahead.

As a financial analyst for Phoenix Financial, Joyner is qualified to get anyone's finances into shape, but she admits the women at Renewal House have offered her a unique challenge. In the past year, Joyner has worked intensely with two women and plans to work with more. "It has become more about life goals and behavioral changes" than about budgets and numbers, Joyner said.
