Four Hurt In Early A. M. Crash Two auto accidents involving injuries to several occupants were reported here during the past week. Saturday, John Cowing, 81, of Bancroft, was shaken up and jured when his Model A' slipped off a county road in Lotts Creek twp. He was taken to Stf Arm hospital, Wednesday morning of last week at 2 a.

a car driven by Lawrence Chipman of Hurt, and a second one with three Japanese chicken sexers from Bancroft, crashed head-on about 3 Vz miles north of Burt on highway 169. Chipman was turning into his farm driveway at the time the crash. The Japs received injuries which included a broken leg and cuts, and Chipman received a broken arm and broken jaw. Ward Allen, state highway patrolman, investigated the crash. Titonka Burt Lions To Picnic Titonka The Burt and Titonka Lions club plan a joint picnic with their families at the picnic grounds halfway between the two towns.

A committee from the Titonka Lions club was named last Thursday evening to help arrange the affair. On the committee ace Herman Dreesmnn, R. L. Krantz, George Bonacker, Louis Bartlett and Wm. Boyken.

Union 4-H iwet The Union boys 4-H club held their regular meeting at the school house Tuesday, May 13. Mike Scott spoke on erosion, and Marvin Hackbarth on grass waterways. Thomas Young attended the County Legion Auxiliary meeting at Titonka Tuesday. Mrs. Ross Buffington accompanied Mrs. Roy Budlohg of Titonka to attend funeral services for Mrs. Ed Dittmer at Burt Monday.

The District No. 8 of Buffalo Twp. picnic was held on Friday. Anna Andrews of Titonka is the teacher. This is one of the few county schools still operating and because of the small number of pupils is considering closing for the coming year.

Mr. and Mrs, Dale Struthers spent Sunday at the Lee Struthers home at Spirit Lake. Larry Kiley and Richard Ringsdorf of this community graduated from the Titonka school at the commencement exercises Wednesday evening, and from the eighth grade were Sharon Smith and Sidney Buffington. Mr. and Mrs.
