Hernandez, who began the streak while on a rehab assignment for a back injury, batted 395 (17-43) over the 11 games. He did manage to drive in a run last night on an infield groundout Tike Redman continued his plummet going O-for-4 to drop his average to 300. In his last 18 games, the outfielder is hitting just J94 (15-for-77) after raising his average as high as 385 before his May 6 promotion to Pittsburgh.

No Due to tonight's game being an American General Insurance buyout the regularly scheduled 'Two For Tuesday" promotion has been canceled By MAURICE PATTON Staff Writer Jason Wood's three-run homer capped a five-run seventh inning for the Nashville Sounds as they claimed a 7-0 win over Memphis last night at Greer Stadium. Wood's big blow was one of just two hits for Nashville in the inning, as Redbirds reliever Rick Huisman contributed a two-base throwing error, a run-scoring wild pitch and two walks to allow the Sounds to build on a two-run lead. The Sounds were an opportunistic bunch all night Adam Hyzdu's single in the second inning was the lone hit in that inning, but Memphis starter Chad Hutchinson (1-6) issued a pair of walks before hitting Chris Petersen with the bases loaded to force Hyzdu home. Don Wengert then followed with a sacrifice fly to drive Wood home with the second run. On the mound, Wengert (4-1) caused the visitors as much trouble as he did at the plate allowing eight hits, but leaving runners on base in each of his final six full innings before giving way to the Nashville bullpen in the seventh.

Marc Wilkins finished the seventh, getting a pair of flyballs with runners at second and third, before Mike Lincoln pitched the final two scoreless Redbird at-bats to complete the staffs fourth shutout of the seasoa The Sounds improved to 6-3 in their current homestand, which concludes Thursday, and raised their record to within four games of 500 at 32-36.
