Several new rules which govern NOA racing have been put into effect this year, and a sizeable) number of questions have come up since the races were announced three weeks ago. A delegation of entries from Columbia, is expected for the meeting, along with others from Nashville and the Midstata area. "The NOA Is determined to keep pleasure craft racing in just that category," Fox said. "We want it to be attractive to the amateur driver, who doesn't have a great deal of money to Invest in racing equipment, but would like to raca his boat in competition with others in the same group." Fox looked over the race course at Lakeshora Park and Animal Land yesterday, and pronounced it excellent. He was particularly impressed by the elevated view, and the pit space off the main body of the lake.

The pleasure craft national championships will be run Sept. 13, and the Cumberland River Marathon Sept. 14. Fox said he expects entries' from as far awgy as Wisconsin. Mrs.

Pro Herchel Spears, Louie's closest challenger and a tough-luck player at the 71st hole, was the first to admit the shot was the stroke that chilled his chances.

"But, as fnr as I'm concerned, Louie won the championship at the 11th and 12th holes," Spears said. "That ftO-footer he made for a birdie at No, 11 gave him a three-stroke lend, Then at the 12th hole he got up and down from a pretty tough apot below the green for a par. His tee shot at 12 (144-yard, par 3 over water) could have bounced Into the lake, but when it stayed up, Louie took advantage of his break and madn a marvelous chip, Rtopplng the ball two feet from the cup. "He's an outstanding young player and deserved to win. He always had the big shot, and the big moment.

That's the' story of this one." Explaining his three-putt at the final hole, Spears said: "There waa nothing for me to do but try and make 2. 1 couldn't Team Title To Muny Entry Louie Graham's even -par 287 paced the Municipal entry to team championship honors in the City Open golf tournament with a five-man, 72-hole total of 1500 strokes.
