Vardiman Forrester will officlate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. The body is at funeral home.

Mr. Hurt died. about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday home following a heart attack. He had been ill about three years.

HE Born Hermitage, in Mr. Davidson Hurt country near. Lewis L. Hurt Former chief deputy the late Lewis Hurt, county sheriff from 1898 to 1902, and the late Mrs. Daisy Johnson Hurt, In 1924 he married the former Ina High, who survives.

attended county public schools and Webb school in Bell Buckle, Tenn. He was a criminal court officer for 22 years and later worked as a chancery court officer under seven sheriffs. He was chief deputy sheriff during part of Garner Robinson's term as sheriff. Mr. Hurt was employed by the state department of finance and taxation several years before his retirement in 1956.

In 1954 he was elected to a sixyear term as magistrate on the county quarterly court. He did not seek re-election year and his term would have expired Sept. 1. He was a member of Berryville Church of Christ. Other survivors include a son, Lewis Johnson Hurt, Houston; two brothers, Morgan Hurt, Hickory, and Clarence Hurt, Hermitsister, Mrs.

James O. Henry, mold Hickory. National Cemetery Entrance Contract Let A contract has been awarded to Nashville firm for construction of alternations to the main entrance of Nashville National Cemetery. Col. Vincent P.

Carlson, U.S. army district engineer in Nashville, said the award was made to Ascon, Nashville, low bidder at $11,225. The low bid, he said, was approximately 10 per cent below the government estimate. The work involves construction of two 12-foot entrances to the cemetery at the immediate sides of the present main entrance, On completion of the two new entrances, the present one will be closed. Mrs.

Sallie M. Woolwine Services for Mrs. Sallie Murphy Woolwine, 81, of 311 Lynwood will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Martin's, 209 Louise ave. Officiating will be Dr.

Gaye L. McGlothlen and the Rev. Raymond T. Ferris. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Mrs. Woolwine died about 8 p.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas hospital. She had suffered a heart allment several years.

A native of Atlanta, she came to Nashville as a child and lived with a relative, Mrs. Idolph Hill. She attended the Old Ward seminary. Her husband, Eldred A. Woolwine, a food broker, died in 1946.

Mrs. Woolwine was a member of Immanuel Baptist church, and until becoming was active in the Harding Road' Garden club, the Ladies Hermitage association, and the Virginia association. She was a former member of the Junior Board, Old Woman's Home. Surviving' are two daughters, Mrs. Julia Woolwine Lellyett and Mrs.

M. Van Smith, both of Nashville; a son, Eldred A. Woolwine St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Richard D.

Fletcher, Memphis, and Miss Sallie B. Woolwine, New York City. Mrs. Ada Brandon Bracy Services for Mrs. Ada Brandon Bracy, 88, were at 2 p.m.

yesterday at Anderson, Garrett funeral home. Burial was in Spring Hill cemetery. Mrs. Bracy died Wednesday morning in a local nursing home after a long illness. She was the widow George Bracy, farmer, who died three years.

ago. Bracy had made her home in Joelton for the past 64 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Bracy was the last surviving child of Christopher Brandon, pioneer settler in the Tobaccoport community in Stewart county.

Pugh will officiate. Burial will be in Hartsville cemetery, Hartsville, Tenn. Mrs. Martin died Wednesday at local hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. The body is at the funeral home.

A native of Kansas, Mrs. Martin had lived in Nashville for the past 40 years. She was the widow of Charles Frank Martin who died about 25 years ago. She da survived by nephew, Harry Hood Martin, Indianapolis. Ira Parker Rites At 11 a.m.

Today Funeral services for Ira E. Parker, 73, of 4436 Tyne will be at 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian church. Dr. Walter R.

Courtenay will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Mr. Parker, former manager of Graham Paper Co.
