Termed Satisfactory Johnson's Progress RICHARD BEENE SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AP) -Hospitalized for the second time in less than four months, former President Lyndon B. Johnson was reported "making satisfactory progress" yesterday as doctors tried to determine if he had a heart attack earlier this week. Johnson, who turns 64 Aug. 27, was flown to an Army hospital suite here Monday night from his LBJ Ranch 60 miles away after he suffered chest pains and nausea. MISS BELL, an employe of the board's research services department, became ill Monday morning at her work and was reported dead on arrival at Baptist Hospital. A native of Philpot, Miss Bell received her 1 high school diploma from Daviess County (Ky). High School in 1934 and her BS degree from Murray State College in 1939. She first joined the board in 1953 as Baptist Book Store manager at Owensboro. In 1955 she moved to Richmond where she served as book store manager until moving to Albuquerque in 1968 as manager of a book store there.

She came to Nashville in 1969. Miss Bell was a member of Belmont Heights Baptist Church. HER denominational work included directing the activities of the Associational Training Union, Valley Association serving as secretary of the Virginia Baptist Training Union Convention, and serving as secretary of the Southeastern Educational Workers Association. She served as educational director of First Baptist Church, Pulaski, educational director of Oakland Baptist Church, Roanoke, and promotional and educational director of Central Park Baptist Church, Birmingham. Miss Bell also taught commercial work in Kentucky and Ohio for five years.

She is survived by a brother, Howard Franklin Bell, Owensboro. Goffrey Vinton Arnold NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. Goffrey Vinton Arnold, 81, of Triune, a retired merchant and former Williamson County magistrate, died yesterday in Veterans Administration Hospital, Nashville. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Triune United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Triune Cemetery. The body is at Waller Chapel here. Arnold was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mildred Beasley Arnold; a daughter, Mrs.

John D. Murrey, Franklin, three sons, James Nashville, and Joe G. and Jones B. Arnold, Oak Ridge; three sisters, Mrs. Earl Potts, the Rover community, Mrs.

J. B. McLinden, Birmingham, and Mrs. Dennie Pearson, Los Angeles; two brothers, Horace, Chapel Hill, and Edgar B. Arnold, Shelbyville, and seven grandchildren.
