Paul Newton McQuiddy, 76, chairman of the board of McQuiddy Printing died yesterday in a Chattanooga nursing home after an extended illness. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Lookout Mountain. The Rev. Robert Wood, pastor of the Church of the Good Shepherd, will officiate.

THE BODY is at Wanns Funeral Chattanooga. McQuiddy was a native of Nasha son of Jephphah Clayton and Maude Wilcox McQuiddy. tee was a graduate of Vanderbilt University. McQuiddy, who became chairman of the board for McQuiddy Printing Co. about a year ago, was also a retired hotel owner in Chattanooga and Knoxville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katherine Kennedy McQuiddy, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Porter, Chattanooga. Ensworth School Collects $808,000 The Ensworth School Endowment Campaign, which began in September, has passed the halfway mark toward its goal, collecting $808,000 in the first four months. "I am confident that we will reach our goal of $1.25 million by the end of the school year," said Ted Lazenby, campaign chairman." "This is very exciting for those of us who are involved with Ensworth." THE ENDOWMENT IS being raised, according to Headmaster Ron Fay, to provide another income source for the school to supplement tuition and donations.

"The endowment will be used to raise teachers' salaries, refinance buildings and improve the property around the school, and to provide scholarship aid to the students," said Fay. Fay said an endowment for an elementary school is somewhat unusual, but he is "happy that our school could engender such R.L. Fanning Dies; Services Tomorrow Robert L. Fanning Tuned 35,000 pianos Robert Lee Fanning, 75, a piano tuner for the Claude P. Street Piano died yesterday in West Side Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

Services for Fanning, of 425 Croley Drive, will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Pettus-Owen Wood Funeral Home, and burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Revs. Wilson Garritt and Jess Shannon will officiate. FANNING, who was thought to be the oldest person practicing his trade in Nashville, tuned 35,000 pianos in his lifetime, said Robert Street, of the firm that employed him.

Street said Fanning not only had tuned pianos in many Nashville homes, but also had worked on instruments at local high schools and at Fisk and Tennessee State universities and Peabody College. A native of Franklin County, Fanning was the son of the late John Riley Fanning and Edna Burks Fanning. HE WAS educated at the Tennessee School for the Blind.
