Bernadine Wade Madison Lottie Mae Barrett Brandon Lottie Mae Dear Barrett, 85, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab in Brandon surrounded by her children. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15th from 5-8PM and Thursday, April 16th from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Barrett worked assembly at General Electric then worked outpatient admissions at MS Baptist Medical Center before retiring.

Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Holland Dear; sisters, Mary Lou Arender, Gettis Paul, Sally Greer and Wilma Bridges and her grandson, Ryan Wade Barrett. She is survived by her son, Bobb (Cindy) Barrett of Brandon; daughters, Paula (Steve) Kuhn of Pearl, Teresia (Greg) Griffin of Madison and Liz (Danny) Beasley of Brandon; 10 grandchildren, Milicent Crosby, Shelby Kuhn, Christie Vaughn, Stephanie Barrett, Emily Barrett, Sam Riden, Corie Riden, Andy Beasley, Brad Beasley and Zach Beasley; 11 great grandchildren and her sisters, Mae Ellis Vance of Pearl, Anita Smiley of Harrisville, Grace Shivers of Harrisville, and Barbara Mullins of Harrisville. Thomas Dawkins Pasadena, TX Th omas Dawkins, age 101 years and 11 months, died Monday, April 6th in Pasadena, Texas. He was born May 30th 1913 in Sturgis, Mississippi to Thomas Presley and Mary Ester Dawkins and was a longtime resident of Long Beach. He loved the beach and the Gulf. He graduated from and was a proud alumni of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he obtained a degree in Education and Psychology. He served in the U.S.

Army during World War II and received an onorable Discharge. Mr. Dawkins was a former public school teacher, until he went to work for the State Department of Education in 1947. He became a State Supervisor in 1961 with the Vocational Rehabilitation Division and retired in 1977. loved watching sports, especially baseball and also loved his Buick He leaves behind many friends, especially LeVonne Smith, who was a dear friend for over 40 years.

Smith Brookhaven A memorial gathering for Mr. Billy Dale Smith will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 from at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. Smith passed away A pril 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his son, Noah Dale Smith. He is survived by his ife, Julie; daughter, Penny Kelley and husband, Stephen; 2 grandchildren, Olivia Will. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy and wife, Geraldine.

He was born on May 25, 1962 to the late, Grady Pete Browning and Barbara Browning in Oxford, MS. He graduated from Lafayette High School and moved to Madison 27 ears ago. The owner of Browning Specialty Services, Todd married Shelia Culpepper 27 years ago. He loved the outdoors and was an avid trail rider ith his four wheelers and Razors, as well as, rock climbing with his assortment of Jeeps. In addition to his mother, odd is survived by his wife, Shelia Browning of Madison; son, Harrison Browning of Madison, MS; two sisters, Jennifer Browning of Oxford and Laura Hollowell (Jeff) of Oxford; five nieces, Leigh Anne Higbee, Morgan Hollowell, Kenna Culpepper, Jessica Grubbs, Terann Melton; five nephews, Taylor Ross, Dylan Hollowell, Steven Culpepper, Greg Culpepper, Trey Culpepper; and three beloved pets, Jack, Gage and Zoe Visitation will be Thursda April 16, 2015 from 5pm until 7pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison and again 1 hour prior to the chapel service on Frida at Interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Webster Animal Shelter or Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society. ack E. Dowe, Sr. Vicksburg Jack Ellis Dowe, Sr. passed away on April 14, 2015, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS.

He was 82 years old. Born in Hinds County to Oscar Oliver Dowe and Crystelle Cook Dowe in 1932, he was the fourth of five children. He graduated from Utica High School in 1950. In 1953 he married, Joy Ann Thornton of Waverly, Louisiana. The oung couple set out with love and optimism on adventures that helped them become best friends, business partners, exemplary parents and community supporters.

They moved to California in 1958 and remained in Sacramento until 1960, when they returned to Vicksburg. They treasure the enduring friendships they made along the way. In 1963, Jack and JoAnn bought a home in Cayuga and in 1968, they opened Jack Dowe Supermarket on Highway 27. Mr. Dowe was instrumental in establishing the Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Clinic next to the store so that many rural people could have access to doctors and dentists.

He loved people from all walks of life and was generous with his time and his many gifts. He was a Christian man and a member of the Stevens Masonic Lodge of Vicksburg for 53 years. Mr. Dowe was a good steward of the land and he enjoyed hunting deer, turkey and squirrels in the company of friends and family. Those who knew him well appreciated his wisdom, his quick wit, his compassion, his style and his love of life.

His courage and physical and moral strength enabled him to carve a niche on his own terms for himself and his family. The world was a better place because of his presence, and he will be sorely missed. Mr. Dowe is survived by his virtuous and lovely wife of 62 years; three children, Cheryl Dowe Carpenter of Decatur, Alabama, Jack Ellis Dowe, Jr. (Karen) of Vicksburg and Amy Dowe Prine of Cayuga; seven grandchildren, Jules Carpenter (Katie), Emily Joy Carpenter of Huntsville, Alabama, Robert Carpenter (Stevie) of Springfield, Missouri, Jack Ellis Dowe, III, David Allen Prine, III, William Aden Dowe and Thomas Cole Dowe; great-granddaughter, Sophia Carpenter; two brothers, Ralph Dowe (Ethel) of Tallulah, Louisiana and Robert Dowe (Clover) of Utica, Mississippi and numerous ne hews and nieces.

He was preceded his parents; his brother, W. T. (Bill) Dowe of Delhi, Louisiana and his sister, Emma Jean Smith of Vicksburg. Services will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg on Saturday, April 18th, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m.

until the hour of the service. Burial will be in Cayuga Cemetery in Utica, MS. Pallbearers will be Earl May, Andrew Butts, Jules Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, Robert Dowe, Ralph Dowe, Jack Dowe, III, and David Prine, III. Farthing Hazlehurst Ronnie L. Farthing, 72, passed away April 13, 2015 at his residence. Visitation will be 9am- 11am with services at 11am Friday at Antioch Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte B. Farthing; 4 children; 2 sisters; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Lampton O. Williams Poplarville Lampton Williams, 96, of Poplarville, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 708 Julia Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM.

Dr. Eric Pridmore and Rev. Lisa Pridmore will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Poplarville City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville.

Lampton was born December 28, 1918 in Baton Rouge, LA to Elijah Bragg and Willie Germany Williams. A lifelong resident of Poplarville, Lampton graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law and was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1942. He was commissioned a Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve and served during World War II. After his military service, he began practicing law with his father in Poplarville. Lampton served as a Commissioner of the Mississippi Bar in 19471948 and 1975-1976.

He was a member of the American Bar Association, Pearl River County Bar Association, Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association, and Mississippi Oil and Gas Lawyers Association. He never truly retired, continuing to practice law for family and friends even into his Family was a top priority to Lampton and getting all his children and grandchildren together was one of the joys of his life. He especially enjoyed the family celebration in his home in honor of his 65th wedding anniversary and his 95th birthday last year. After the deaths of his brothers, Lampton became the patriarch of the family showing care and concern for all of his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Lampton took an active interest in the Poplarvillecommunity and was instrumental in the construction of the first community center.

He was named Citizen of the Year for 1967 by the Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of the Poplarville First United Methodist Church, continuing to contribute when no longer able to attend and taking a special interest in seeing that the youth programs were funded. He was also involved in the mission of Keepers. Lampton loved the outdoors and spending time in the woods. His idea of deer hunting was watching for deer in a blind without a gun although he did enjoy duck, dove and quail hunting.

Family members include his wife of 66 years, Williams of Poplarville; three children, Susan Gornall and her hus- band, John of Atlanta, GA, Neal Williams and his wife, Susan of Hattiesburg, Kay Barnard and her husband, Bill of Milton, GA; nine grandchildren, Matney Gornall, Ian Gornall, Colin Gornall, Trey Williams, Cory Williams, Susan Neal Williams, Karen Kubow, Brittany Erwin, Brian Barnard; four great-grandchildren, Isabel Williams, Aiden Williams, Amy Kubow, Anabelle Erwin; one sister- in-law, Mowetha Williams; many loving nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Beth Williams; two brothers, E.B. Williams, Jr. and Gordon Williams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Keeper Ministries, 310 East Smith Street, Poplarville or Poplarville First United Methodist Church.
