The president, of the Nashville Educational Television foundation said last night he will urge his group to hire a ftation manager to put Channel 2 on the air as soon as possible. In answer to questions from educators, housewives and businessmen at a meeting called bv the Radio and Television Council of Middle Tennessee, the president, Joe Thompson, said: "We are going to meet next week, and am going to recommend the name of a prospective station manager so we can get this station on th air. I certainly hope they will take action immediately." THE FOUNDATION has been relatively inactive since it applied for the Channel 2 permit in 1953 and conducted en unsuccessful campaign for funds to establish the station. It has not met in more than a year.

Since he found violence, villains, well-meaning but irresponsible friends, a flood, and a heap of bad luck from his own folly, there's plenty of drama in this episodic tale. But the best of it is his humor self-criticizing, wise, witty and penetrating something we seem to have lost track of on our endless trek out West with TV. (Color) 9 p.m. Channel 4. An hour is hardly enough time for all of Gene Kelly's famous old numbers, but he does manage to repeat a few.
