PAGFTWHVF THE HELENA INDEPENDENT, FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 1942 Some House Members Contend Profit War Effort by Delaying Contracts Washington, April 9 -House ways and means committeemen contended today that the senate-approvad profit limitation bill would "slow down" the war effort because of contract difficulties. They argued that excessive profits should be recaptured through existing tax formulas rather than through the appioved ly the senate Tuesday giving the War and departments and the a i i commission broad authority to renegotiate questionable contracts and to require certain repayment's. Voicing the sentiments of some of the committee membeis, v-ho are now studying stitfer excess profits taxes for war-contract industries as part of a new sy.noo,- 000,000 tax bill, Rep. Murphv. Father John Sheehan officiated. Attendants of the couple were Mi'-' Lillian Carey, sister of the hiide, of San Jose, and I Joseph Murphy, brother of the groom, of Lewlstown.

The bride wore an ensemble of soldier blue with rose accessories. Phe carried a bouquet of roses and Hhes-of-the-valley. The bridesmaid wore an ensemble of rmdwav blue with white accessories. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses. The bride's mother was attired in a black ensemble with black and white accessories.

She wore a. corsage of yellow and orchid roses and eet peas. The groom's mother wore an ensemble of navy blue with navy accessories. Her corsage was of yellow roses and sweet A wedding- breakfast was served the Copper Bowl at the Finlen hotel. The table was centered with a beautiful bride's cake decorated with a miniature bride and groom.

Spring flowers were massed at each end of the table. Members of the bride and groom's families were the guests. Mrs. Murphy Is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Carey of Boulder valley. She attended St. Vincent's Academy in Helena. She is a graduate of ths Cardwell high and the Butte Business college. For the past year she has been employed in the office of the county attorney at Boulder.

The voung couple left for Stockton, California on a honeymoon trip. They will make their home in Clancy. PERSONALS Mrs. Ijj-le Swartz and children George and Marie and Mrs. Drew Jackson and daughter Paula of Bozeman were visitors at the Ed McCauley ranch Tuesday.

They also transacted business in Boulder. Mrs. Herbert Black is visitinr relatives and friends in Billings this week. The board of county commissioners met in regular monthly session this week. Present were James Ahl, chairman, Dan Osmundson and Emmett Douglass.
