Jarvis, Topeka, was married Sunday afternoon, April 5th, to Mr. Clyde Hammond, of Mr, and Mrs. A. P. Hammond, Rt.

1. The Rev. Darrell Moore read the service in the First' Church of the Nazarene. The bride wore a pink linen suit and white accessories and the maid of honor. Miss Leona Jarvis, Lansing, sister of the bride, wore a pale pink sheath style dress.

Both had corsages of white carnations. The best man was Mr. Theron Jan-is, brother of the bride. Mrs. Wayne Lambert assisted at the reception in the church which followed the ceremony.

Mrs. Hammond attended Seaman High School in Topeka and Mr. Hammond was graduated from the Neosho Rapids High School. They are living at 502 Neosho St. Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr.

Mrs. Pennington's talk, which concerned local and nearby gardens, was illustrated with slides taken in Emporia, Kansas City and Belle Plaine. "April Showers" was the theme used in the table decorations.

Mrs. John Quackenbush and Mrs. Lee Stolfus served as hostesses. Mrs. Edwin Kirk presided at the business meeting and announced that Miss Inge Hansen, who has been the.

Yeraon Pennington, Vice President; Mrs. Alex Daughtry, Recording Secretary; Mrs. Virgil Basgall, Corresponding Secretary, and Mrs. Deloy Heath, Treasurer. Their terms of office will start in September.

Gth 1019 Com'l Kansas Garden Clubs Meet in Garnett Mrs. John Higgins, Ellinwood, will be the guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Mid-East District of Kansas Associated Garden Clubs to be held Monday, April 13th, in Garnett. A Flower Show School Judge and an accredited National Council Judge, Mrs. Higgins is a recognized authority on the design and composition of floral arrangements, which she will and demonstrate.

She will speak during the afternoon session of the meeting, to start with a coffee at 9 a.m. and be held in the Catholic School Auditorium on East Fourth Street in Garnett. Members who attend are asked to bring garden plants in containers to be sold from the "Opportunity Table." A registration feo of $1 will be charged and tickets for a luncheon to be served at noon will be $1.35. Reservations for the luncheon, to be made before Friday, may be sent to Madeline Sutton or Bertella Brummell in Garnelt. The public is invited to attend the entire program.

The May 14th meeting will be in Madison. Mrs. Lewis Roe presented the program at the meeting of the Athenaeum' Club Tuesday evening in her home of Route 5. She described a recent trip to Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Mrs.

H. J. Briscqe, who discussed opera productions and contrasted the length of the opera season in the United States and in European countries. Mrs. Harry Alspaw, 1221 Washington will be the hostess for the April 21st meeting.
