Waggoner had a barbecue on Sunday celebrating birthdays in the family. There were around twenty-five attending. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jordan are now in their new home near his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Gabe Jordan. Mr. Leroy Warnasch escaped serious injury last week when his car turned over on Highway 90. The car was almost completely demolished.

Mrs. ,1. R. Bone and Jerrilou went to Temple on Thursday to visit her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Watts. Mrs. Watts returned home with them on Friday night. The Youth Group of the Presbyterian Church in Barker "Trick or Treated" for CROP on Sunday night. This is an annual affair on Halloween.

Richard Fry was visited by his friend Jack Standley of Houston on Sunday afternoon. Special thanks go to all the parents and teachers, members of the Addicks- Barker PTA for making the Halloween Carnival a success. Royal Carnival Well Attended The annual Halloween Carnival sponsored by the Royal PTA was held at the Royal Elementary School in Brookshire on Saturday night. Starting the evening of the Halloween festival was the barbecue at, 5:30 p.m. which was well attended.

The covered play area at the school served as the carnival booths that each grade, with the help of the room mothers, main-" tain for the enjoyment of the ones who participate. The following booths made up the mid-way: First Grade, Fish Pond; Second Grade, Spin and Win; Third Grade, Grab Bag; Fourth Grade, No Loss Why Not Fifth Grade, Who Can Tell Who'll Ring the Sixth Grade, Snow Cone and Bean Guessing; Seventh Grade, Black Cat Throw; Eight Grade, Country Store; Ninth Grade, Fortune Telling; Tenth Grade, Bake Sale; Eleventh Grade, Dunking Board; Twelveth Grade. Can Corner, and Side Walk Cafe, Spanish Club. A Halloween atmosphere prevailed throughout the evening. Each class receives half of the profit from their booth.

Proceeds from the Carnival will again go to the school for items which'j will be of value to each child. Katy Football Sweetheart Presented Roses Miss Rarbara Gilbert, Football Sweetheart, is shown at the homecoming same.
