He was a native of Scottsburg, a construction worker and a member of Pentecostal Holiness House of Prayer in Franklin. Survivors: his parents, Felix Sr. and Lola M. Gilbert; brothers Felix Charles and Lester Gilbert; and sisters Pearlie Campbell, Jewell Smith, Linda Baker, Sue Aymes and Mary Essie Smith.

She was a native of St. Louis, a former English teacher at John Burroughs School of St. Louis, a former editor for Ladies Home Journal and former publicity director for Lippin-cott Publishing of Philadelphia. She was an author, former co-owner of an Anchorage bookstore and art gallery, a former member of the Anchorage School Board and St. Luke's Episcopal Church's vestry, and former state president of the League of Women Voters.

She served in the Army's public relations office during World War II. Survivors: sons Henry Jr. and Richard D. Sanders; a brother, H. Richard Duhme; and a granddaughter.
