I Fort, Ex-Banker, Dies CLARKSVILLE Funeral servIces for Sterling Fort, 88, retired banker, will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the Harvey W. Hunt funeral home. Dr. Richard N.

Owen will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Mr. died Wednesday at the Clarksville nursing home. Mr.

Fort was a native of Robertson county. His parents were Osiah W. and Eliza Dancey Fort. He was graduated from th University of Tennessee, and operated few the Bank of Adams for years before coming to Clarksville, where he headed the First Trust and Savings bank from 1906 until 1909. He then became president of the Northern Bank Tennessee.

He retired in 1934. Mr. Fort was twice married. His first wife was Mrs. Sallie Jones Fort, who he married in November, 1884.

She died in November, 1889. Of this union a daughter and son were born, Mrs. Willie Buchanan, Clarksville, and the late George Fort. His Margaret second Fleming marriage on Dec. was 31, to 1895.

Miss She died in 1943. Of this union, he is survived by a. daughter, Mrs. Joseph Trahern, Clarksville, and a son, William K. Fort, Birmingham, Ala.

He also leaves a brother, Judge Dancey Fort, Clarksville, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Baker, Meridian, Miss. Mr. Fort was a former president of the Tennessee Bankers association. He was a member of the First Baptist church.

Louis E. Walton Dies In Florida; Rites Here Services for Louis E. Walton, former Nashvillian who died Monday at his home in Daytona Beach, will be held today at at Cosmopolitan funeral home, 2408 West End ave. Dr. E.

P. Anderson will officiate. Burial will Spring Hill cemetery. Mr. Walton, owner of a flooring firm, had lived in Florida 25 years.

He attended public schools of Nashville. survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Edge Walton, Daytona Beach; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Larrimore, Daytona Beach; three Brothers, E. J.

Walton, Nashville, E. E. Walton, Miami, and Adams, and N. W. Walton, Louisville, and six sisters, Mrs.

H. E. Smith, Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. James H.

Hagar, all of Nashville, Mrs. J. D. Nall, Decatur, and Mrs. I.

G. Henslee, Belleview, Tenn, Mrs. Etta B. Mooney Mrs. Etta Branch Mooney, 83, widow of W.

A. Mooney, died last night at her home, 1007 Halcyon after an illness of a month. Funeral arrangements were incomplete. The body is at Finley Dorris Charlton funeral West End and Twenty-fifth aves. Mrs.

Mooney was a native of Maury county and had lived in Nashville 47 years. She Wes a daughter of Ruben and Elizabeth Branch. Her husband, a Tennessee Central railway engineer, died in 1925. She was a. member of the Waverly Place, Methodist church.

She survived by four daughters, Mrs. C. V. Beard and Mrs. Raymond A.

Vaughn of Nashville, Mrs. W. K. Thompson, Columbia, and Mrs. Robert F.

Sowell, Franklin; five grandchildren, and two sisters, Mre. Belle O. O'Neal. Columbia, and Mrs. E.

Guest, Lithonia, Ga. Mrs. Ethel R. Anderson Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night for Mrs. Ethel R.

Anderson, 62, who died yesterday in a Nashville hospital, The body is at Cosmopolitan funeral home, 2408 West End ave. A native of Nashville, she attended Ward school which later became She was a member Presbyterian Ward Belmont church. husband, Louis Alexander Anderson, died 17 years ago. Adele Blackwell, Harrisonburg, Va. Curtis Ashburn Tenn. Curtis Ashburn, 66, Putnam county farIner, died yesterday home of a sister, Mrs. Pagie Ashburn, in the eighth civil district, following a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m.

today at Ozion church. Burial will be in Dobbs cemetery. Mr. Ashburn, a son of the late Johnny and Kelly Harren Ashburn, was a native of DeKalb county. He lived in Putnam county of his life.

Survivors include another sister, Mrs. Minnie Lafever, Baxter, and five brothers, Esker, John Alvin Ashburn, Baxter, and Allie Ashburn, Sparta, Tenn. Louis Newton McQuiddy, 86, retired dispatcher for the railroad, died yesterday at his home at 217 Twenty-eighth N. Private prayer services will be conducted at the grave at 2 p.m. today by the Rev.

Don Pinson. The body is at Phillips-Robinson funeral home. Mr. McQuiddy was a native of Wartrace, Tenn. He retired about 15 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George Steele of Chattanooga; two sons, A. R. McQuiddy of Chattanooga and K. W.

N. Yearwood, 77, of Murfreesboro, retired building contractor, died yesterday in St. Thomas hospital, Nashville, after three years of illness. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial chapel here, with C.

M. Pullias officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Yearwood, a native of Cannon county, attended old Burt college at Readyville, Tenn.

He had lived in Murfreesboro about 45 He retired from the contracting business when he became ill. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Banks Bell Funeral services for h. S. Banks Vaughn Bell of, 1204 Woodland 79, who died yesterday at 11:45 a.m. at Vanderbilt hospital, will be conducted tomorrow at 10:30 a.m, at Finley, Dorris Carlton funeral home.

A. R. Holton, minister of Central Church of Christ, will officiate and burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mrs. Bell had been ill for many years and was readmitted to the hospital a few days ago.

The daughter of Henry B. and Phoebe Vaughn of Gallatin and granddaughter of Judge G. H. Milliken of Franklin, Mrs. Bell was educated at St.

Cecilia academy. She was the widow of B. Frank Bell pioneer automobile manufacturer, who established his business here in 1899. Mr. Bell died in 1918.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lillian B. Burch, and three sons, B. Frank Bell Roy M. and H.

N. Bell, all of Nashville. Eudie Lee Gober Funeral arrangements were incomplete Eudie Lee Gober, 55 federal prisoner at Davidson county jail, who died yesterday at General hospital. He was charged with violation of the federal narcotics law. Officials said the federal physician took him off his narcotics ration 12 days ago.
