This is the fourth public television station owned and operated by the state board of education.

Others include WSJK in Knoxville-Sneedville, WLIT in Lexing-ton and WTCI in Chattanooga. station, WCTE-Channel 22 (UHF), begins regular broadcasting Monday, August 28, from its headquarters in Cookeville.
