She was a native of Abington, a member of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth for 63 years; and a teacher at schools in Kentucky, including Holy Name, Sacred Heart, Presentation Academy and Spalding College, and in Tennessee, Ohio and Massachusetts. Survivors: sisters Elizabeth Ricket- after being elected in 1958. In 1982, he was appointed to the state Supreme Court for one year but was not elected to another term. He then returned to private practice. Last summer, the Kentucky Bar Association named him the Outstanding Lawyer of the Year.
