Willy Ley, national known rocket expert, says the United States has in readiness six space missiles capable of reaching the moon. He also declared that the missiles are set for momentary firing at Eniwetok Atoll in the Pacific Ocean's Marshall Islands. Ley made that statement before 1,200 persons at the Executive's Club in Chicago. He pointed out that, "only the weather is holding up the shots." The New York rocket expert added that by putting a fifth stage thrust on the missiles they can be made to reach the moon, 238,857 miles away. Dr.

Ley continued: "They might start firing them today, tomorrow or tonight." The rockets, designed to reach the 4,000 mile level, will not go into an orbit, he explained, but will fall back to earth. If one or more of the missiles is converted to reach the moon, he said, the first one probably will be fitted -with a magnesium flare or some other illuminating device create a fire "splash" that will be visible on earth when It lands. And later on, said Ley, one of rockets can be aimed to go Behind the moon, which it will continue to circle as a satellite. Ley figures that it will be possible to launch a satellite capable of carrying a human being into outer space and back in safety "In about five years." Women, he continued, probably will pilot the first space ships because they are more adaptable tlian men to withstand monton- ous work under difficult conditions. Dr.

Ley also said the United States could have placed a satellite nto the air a year ago. The action, le added, was rejected in deference President Eisenhower's wishes to build a peaceful satellite Instead of one regarded as a military ven- ure. Judge Will Rule Monday On Move To Unseat Hoffa By NORMAN WALKER WASHINGTON Federal District Judge F. Dickinson Letts says he will rule Monday on a move to bar James R. Hoffa from taking over the helm of the Teamsters Union. Letts Friday took under advisement a request by a rank-and-filc Teamsters group from New York that he issue a temporary restraining order to prevent Hoffa from stepping Into the union presidency to which he was elected overwhelmingly at last week's union convention in Miami Beach. Beck Ready to Quit Dave Beck, who did not seek reelection as Teamsters president, said in New Tork he Is ready to resign, perhaps next Tuesday, to permit Hoffa to move In as head of the union.

Both men have been accused by the Senate Rackets Investigating Commitco of misusing Teamsters funds and of abusing their union powers. The Teamsters Union is threatened with possible ouster from the AFL-CIO because of corruption charges against Beck, Hoffa and other Teamsters chiefs. The complaining Teamsters members contend Hoffa was chosen by delegates largely handpicked to rig his election. They charge many delegates were picked in violation of the union's constitution. Beck acknowledged that at least one election requirement under the union's constitution was knowingly disregarded.

But he said there was nothing wrong with this action. Seek Caretaker The member group seeks not only to set aside the convention election results, but to get the court to appoint a caretaker Cor the union pending selection of new delegates and another convention. After conferring twice with lawyers for the Teamsters members, Letts put off any ruling until Monday. "I wun't have anything to say until then," he told newa- men. Attorneys for the rank-and-file group also plan to go into the Federal Appeals Court here Monday seeking to have the Teamsters Union cited for contempt of court.

Letts two weeks ago Issued a preliminary injunction against holding the Teamsters convention. This order was set aside by the Appeals Court, but with a warning that the union should not proceed with its convention If illegal delegates -were seated. Contempt Charged The contempt action will be sought on grounds the convention was held with illegal delegates, despite the court warning. Sen. McClellan has said his investigating committee has evidence selection of Teamsters convention delegates was scan- dalous In many In conceding that convention had di least one constitution! requirement, Beck mel rule which says all delel dentials must be in thei headquarters office 30 a convention opens.

Beck said the decision regard the rule was madel himself, Hoffa and other Tea sters officials. He said the del slon was based on what he calleq "rule of reason." "There is nothing wrong about I it," Beck said, adding that the I union's lawyers had approved th's procedure.
