The new organization was formed recently at Portland and officers were elected during a committee meeting last Sunday at Eugene. A Portland group started the movement and sent invitations to the organizational meeting to 35 boating clubs in the state. At least two local clubs were invited to the initial meeting but Eugene Yacht Club and Cottage Grovo Boat Club officials said the notices were received too late to make arrangements for sending delegates. Though the Cottage Grove club was not represented at the meeting, Commodore Paul Stock said members had agreed to join the federation. Commodore Eloyd Dickson of Eugene Yacht Club said he believed members of that group would be interested in joining.

Affiliation in the OFBC will be considered at the next board meeting in late January, Dickson indicated. Invitations were sent to several water ski clubs but Tri-Pass Ski Club of Eugene, a group which is active in both water and snow programs, was not included on the list. President Tex Carter was out of town this week but a board member, Margaret Brunswig, was certain that Tri-Pass water skiers would favor membership in the state organization. Wayne Evans, vice commodore of Lowell-Lane Boat Club, said his club had not taken any steps toward joining the federation. OFFICERS ELECTED Federation officers elected during the organizational meeting last Sunday at the Eugene Hotel include president Frank Collins, commodore of the Portland Small Craft Club; vice president Ray Morrom, commodore of Salem Yacht Club; and secretary-treasurer Larry Shute, vice commodore of Tyee Yacht Club at Portland.
