The victim, Kevin Peters, was a passenger in a westbound car driven by Julie Moody, 22, of Louisville, said assistant Clarksville Police Chief David Ross. The accident happened about 9:15 p.m. Moody was waiting to make a left turn into a parking lot, near Ind. 131 and Johnson Lane, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a car driven by Stephanie Dennis, 19, of Louisville, Ross said. The impact sent Moody's car into the eastbound lanes of traffic, and it was struck on the passenger side by a tractor-trailer truck.

Another vehicle then plowed into the pileup, Ross said. Peters died at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville of multiple internal injuries, said Deputy Clark A.D. Porter Sons Inc.
